[구약성경 창세기12장] 아브람이 바로에게 사래(사라)를 누이라고 속이다 : [Old Testament, Genesis 12] Abram deceives Pharaoh that Sarai (Sarah) is his sister

하나님이 아브람을 부르심(God Calls Abram)

1. 여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 네 고향과 친척과 집을 떠나 내가 지시할 땅으로 가거라

(Yahweh said to Abram. “Leave your hometown and your relatives and your home and go to the land I will show you)

-> 나와 우리는 하나님의 명령을 따라가며 살고 있는지, 되돌이켜 볼 일이다

(Whether we and I are living according to God's commands, we need to look back)

2. 내가 너를 큰 민족의 조상이 되게 하고 너를 축복하여 네 이름을 크게 떨치게 하였다. 너는 다른 사람에게 복을 끼치는 자가 될 것이다

(I have made you the father of a great nation, and I have blessed you and made your name great. you will be a blessing to others)

-> 나와 우리는 믿지 사람들과 믿지 않는 사람들에게 선한 영향력을 끼치며 살아가고 있는가?

(Are we and I living a good influence on believers and non-believers?)

3. 너를 축복하는 자를 내가 축복하고 너를 저주하는 자를 내가 저주할 것이니 땅의 모든 민족이 너를 통해 복을 받을 것이다

(I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you, and all the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you)

4. 그래서 아브람은 여호와께서 지시하신 대로 롯과 함께 하란을 떠났는데 그때 그의 나이는 75세였다

(So Abram left Haran with Lot as the Lord had directed him, and he was 75 years old at the time)

5. 아브람이 그의 아내 사래와 조카 롯과 그리고 하란에서 얻은 모든 재산과 종들을 이끌고 가나안 땅으로 들어가

(Abram went into the land of Canaan with his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all the possessions and servants acquired in Haran)

6. 세겜의 모레 상수리나무가 있는 곳에 이르니 그곳에는 가나안 사람들이 살고 있었다

(When they came to the place where the Moreh oak of Shechem was, the Canaanites lived there)

7. 그러나 여호와께서 아브람에게 나타나 "내가 이 땅을 네 후손에게 주겠다" 하고 말씀하셨다. 그래서 아브람은 자기에게 나타나신 여호와를 위하여 그곳에 단을 쌓았다

(But the Lord appeared to Abram and said, "I will give this land to your descendants after you." So Abram built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him)

-> 하나님께서는 우리에게 너무나도 많은 걸 거저 주시는데, 우리는 하나님께 얼마나 경배할까?

(God gives us so much for free, how much do we worship Him?)

8. 그러고서 아브람은 그 곳을 떠나 남쪽으로 내려가서 벧엘과 아이 사이에 천막을 쳤는데 벧엘은 서쪽에 위치해 있었고 아이는 동쪽에 위치해 있었다. 거기서도 그는 단을 쌓고 여호와께 경배하였다

(Then Abram left there and went down to the south and pitched his tent between Bethel and Ai, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he also built an altar and worshiped the LORD)

9. 그런 다음 그는 점점 가나안 남쪽 지방으로 옮겨갔다

(Then he gradually moved to the southern part of Canaan.)

 

이집트로 내려간 아브람(Abram goes down to Egypt)

10. 그러나 가나안 땅에 심한 흉년이 들어 아브람은 이집트에 가서 살려고 그쪽으로 내려갔다

(But there was a severe famine in the land of Canaan, and Abram went down to Egypt to live)

11. 그런데 그는 이집트에 가까이 갔을 때 자기 아내 사래에게 이렇게 말하였다. "당신은 정말 아름다운 여자요

(But as he approached Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, "You are such a beautiful woman)

12. 이집트 사람들이 당신을 보면 당신이 내 아내인 줄 알고 나를 죽이고 당신은 살려 줄 것이오

(When the Egyptians see you, they will think you are my wife, and they will kill me and save you)

-> 나와 우리 또한 절대 절명의 어느 위기의 순간에도 하나님을 찾고 믿음의 말을 해야 한다

(Me and we must also seek God and speak the word of faith in any moment of crisis)

13. 그러니 당신은 그들에게 내 누이라고 말하시오. 그러면 당신 덕택에 내가 죽음을 당하지 않고 좋은 대접을 받게 될 것이오"

-> 이 시기에 아브람은 하나님께 기도했을까? 기도했다면 믿음의 말을 할 수 있지 않았을까.. 전쟁을 하기도 전에 벌써 져버린 걸 볼 수 있다. 또한 설사 죽지 않고 자기 아내인 사라(사래)를 바로에게 넘기고, 귀빈처럼 대접받는 것이 좋은 대접이라 말할 수 있을까?

(Did Abram pray to God during this time? If I had prayed, I would have been able to speak the words of faith)

14. 아브람이 이집트 땅에 들어갔을 때 이집트 사람들은 아브람의 아내를 보고 아름답다고 야단들이었다

(When Abram entered the land of Egypt, the Egyptians scolded Abram's wife because she was beautiful)

15. 그리고 궁중 신하들도 그녀를 보고 그 아름다움을 바로 왕에게 말하였으므로 그녀는 궁실로 안내되었다

(And the court officials saw her and told Pharaoh her beauty, so she was led to the palace)

16. 바로는 그 여인을 생각해서 아브람을 후하게 대접하고 그에게 양과 소와 나귀와 남녀종들과 낙타를 주었다

(Pharaoh remembered the woman and treated Abram generously, and gave him sheep, oxen, donkeys, male and female servants, and camels)

-> 아브람의 기분은 어땠을까? 과연 편했을까? 그렇지 않았을 것이다

(How did Abram feel? Would it have been convenient? it would not have been)

17. 그러나 여호와께서는 아브람의 아내 사래의 일을 바로와 그의 집안에 무서운 재앙을 내리셨다

(But Jehovah brought a terrible plague upon Pharaoh and his household for what happened to Sarai, Abram’s wife)

-> 아브람의 믿음없었던 일을 통해서, 다른 사람인 바로에게까지 해를 끼친다. 우리 또한 우리가 하는 일들을 통해 다른 사람에게 은혜 또는 시험을 줄 수 있다는 걸 인지해야 한다

(Through Abram's unbelief, he harms Pharaoh, another person. We also need to recognize that we can give grace or test to others through the work we do)

18. 그래서 바로가 아브람을 불러 말하였다. "네가 어째서 나에게 이런 짓을 하였느냐? 그 여인이 네 아내라고 왜 나에게 말하지 않았느냐?

(So Pharaoh called Abram and said, "Why did you do this to me? Why didn't you tell me that she was your wife?")

-> 기독교인이 세상에서 올바르지 않은 일을 했을 때, 나와 우리는 책망받아야 마땅하다

(When Christians do something wrong in the world, we and I deserve rebuke)

19. 어째서 네가 그녀를 누이라고 하여 내가 그녀를 데려다가 내 아내로 삼게 하였느냐? 자, 네 아내가 여기 있으니 데리고 가거라"

(Why did you call her your sister, so I took her to be my wife? Now, your wife is here, so take her with you")

20. 그러고서 바로가 신하들에게 명령하자 그들이 아브람을 그의 아내와 함께 모든 소유를 이끌고 나라 밖으로 나가게 하였다

(Then Pharaoh gave orders to his servants, and they sent Abram and his wife and all their possessions out of the country)
