[현대인성경 KLB 구약 역대하 21장] 유다의 5대 왕 여호람 : Jehoram, 5th King of Judah

1 “여호사밧은 죽어 다윗성에 있는 그 조상들의 묘에 장사되었고 그의 아들 여호람이 왕위를 계승하였다.”Jehoshaphat died and was buried in the tombs of his ancestors in the City of David, and his son Jehoram succeeded to the throne
‭‭2 “여호람은 형제가 여섯이었는데 그들은 아사랴, 여히엘, 스가랴, 아사랴후, 미가엘, 스바댜였다.”Jehoram had six brothers: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariahu, Michael, and Shebadiah
‭‭3 “여호사밧왕은 자기 아들들에게 금은 보물과 유다의 요새 성들을 선물로 주었으나 여호람은 장남이기 때문에 그에게는 왕위를 물려 주었다.”King Jehoshaphat gave his sons treasures of gold and silver as gifts, as well as the fortified cities of Judah, but because Jehoram was the eldest son, he inherited the throne
‭‭4 “그러나 여호람이 왕위에 올라 세력을 굳히자 그는 자기 동생들을 모두 죽이고 또 몇몇 이스라엘 지도자들도 죽였다.”But when Jehoram ascended the throne and established his power, he killed all his brothers and killed some of the leaders of Israel
‭‭5 “여호람은 32세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 8년을 통치하였다.”Jehoram became king at the age of 32 and reigned for 8 years in Jerusalem
‭‭6 “그는 아합의 딸과 결혼하였으므로 이스라엘 왕들을 본받아 아합의 집안 사람들처럼 악을 행하고 여호와께 범죄하였다.”He married Ahab's daughter, so he imitated the kings of Israel and did evil like the men of Ahab's family, and sinned against the LORD
‭‭7 “그러나 여호와께서 다윗의 집안을 멸망시키려고 하지 않았던 것은 다윗에게 그 후손들이 계속 나라를 다스리게 해 주겠다고 약속하셨기 때문이었다.”But Jehovah did not intend to destroy David's house because he had promised David that his descendants would continue to rule the country
‭‭8 “여호람이 왕으로 있을 당시 에돔이 유다를 반역하여 자기들의 왕을 세웠다.”During Jehoram's reign, Edom rebelled against Judah and installed their own king
‭‭9 “그래서 여호람은 모든 전차를 동원하여 병력을 이끌고 에돔을 치러 갔으나 즉시 에돔군에게 포위를 당하고 말았다. 그래서 그들은 야음을 틈타서 간신히 그 포위망을 빠져나왔다.”So Jehoram mobilized all his chariots and led his troops against Edom, but was immediately surrounded by the Edomites. So they managed to get out of the siege under cover of night
‭‭10 “이때부터 에돔은 유다의 속박에서 벗어나 완전 독립국이 되었다. 그리고 이 때에 립나성도 반란을 일으켜 유다의 통치에서 벗어났는데 이런 일이 일어나게 된 것은 여호람이 그 조상의 하나님 여호와를 저버렸기 때문이었다.”From this time on, Edom got out of Judah's bondage and became a completely independent country. At this time, Libnah also rose up in rebellion and escaped Judah's rule. This happened because Jehoram rejected the LORD, the God of his fathers
‭‭11 “여호람은 또 유다의 여러 산에 산당을 세우고 유다와 예루살렘 사람들에게 우상을 섬기게 하여 여호와께 범죄하도록 하였다.”Jehoram also built high places on the hills of Judah and caused the people of Judah and Jerusalem to worship idols and sin against the Lord
‭‭12 “이때 예언자 엘리야가 여호람에게 이런 편지를 보냈다. “왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘네가 네 아버지 여호사밧이나 유다의 아사왕을 본받지 않고”At this time, the prophet Elijah sent this letter to Jehoram. “This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: ‘You did not imitate your father Jehoshaphat or King Asa of Judah
‭‭13 “이스라엘 왕들의 악한 행실을 본받아 아합의 집안 사람들처럼 유다와 예루살렘 백성에게 우상을 섬기게 하였으며 또 너보다 선한 너의 동생들을 모조리 죽였다.”You followed the evil behavior of the kings of Israel and made the people of Judah and Jerusalem worship idols like the people of Ahab, and you killed all your younger brothers who were better than you
‭‭14 “그러므로 나 여호와가 이제 네 백성과 네 처자들과 네가 소유한 모든 것에 무서운 재앙을 내리겠다.”Therefore, I, the LORD, will bring terrible plagues on your people, on your wives and on your children, and on everything you own
‭‭15 “그리고 너는 창자에 고질병이 생겨 고생할 것이며 그 병은 악화되어 결국 네 창자가 빠져나오고 말 것이다.’ ””And you will suffer from a chronic disease of the intestines, which will worsen and eventually your intestines will come out.’ ”
‭‭16 “여호와께서는 블레셋 사람과 그리고 에티오피아에 가까이 사는 아라비아 사람들의 마음을 충동하여 여호람을 치게 하셨다.”Jehovah stirred up against Jehoram the Philistines and the Arabs living near Ethiopia
‭‭17 “그들은 유다를 침략하여 궁전을 약탈하고 막내 아들 아하시야를 제외한 왕의 아들들과 아내들을 모조리 생포해 갔다.”They invaded Judah, plundered the palace, and captured all the king's sons and wives except for Ahaziah, the youngest son
‭‭18 “그런 일이 있은 후에 여호와께서는 여호람을 벌하셔서 그의 창자에 고칠 수 없는 병이 들게 하셨다.”After this, Jehovah punished Jehoram with an incurable disease in his intestines
‭‭19 “그래서 여호람은 고생하다가 병든 지 2년 만에 창자가 빠져나와 결국 죽고 말았다. 그러나 백성들은 왕들이 죽을 때 늘 피우던 애도의 향불을 이번에는 피우지 않았다.”So Jehoram suffered a lot, and after two years of illness, his intestines came out and he died. However, the people did not light the mourning incense this time when kings died
‭‭20 “여호람은 32세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 8년을 통치하다가 죽었는데 아무도 그의 죽음을 슬퍼하는 자가 없었다. 그는 다윗성에 묻히긴 했으나 왕들의 묘에는 장사되지 못하였다.”Jehoram ascended the throne at the age of 32 and reigned for 8 years in Jerusalem before dying, and no one mourned his death. He was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings
