1 “요담은 25세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 16년을 통치하였다. 그리고 그의 어머니는 사독의 딸 여루사였다.”Jotham became king at the age of 25 and reigned 16 years in Jerusalem. And his mother was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok
‭‭2 “요담은 그의 아버지 웃시야의 선한 행실을 본받아 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 하였으며 그는 또 자기 아버지처럼 성전을 침범하여 죄를 짓는 일도 하지 않았다. 그러나 그의 백성들은 계속 죄를 짓고 있었다.”Jotham did what was right in the sight of the Lord, following the example of his father Uzziah's good conduct. But his people continued to sin
‭‭3 “요담은 성전 북문을 건축하고 오벨이라는 예루살렘 지역의 성벽을 증축하였으며”Jotham built the north gate of the temple and enlarged the walls of the Jerusalem area called Ophel
4 “또 유다 산중에 성을 건축하고 삼림 지대에 요새를 만들며 망대를 세웠다.”He also built cities in the mountains of Judah, built fortifications in the forests, and built towers
‭‭5 “요담은 암몬 왕과 싸워 이겼기 때문에 그 후 3년 동안 매년 은 3,400킬로그램과 밀 약 980톤과 보리 약 980톤을 조공으로 거둬들였다.”Because Jotham fought and defeated the king of Ammon, he collected 3,400 kg of silver and about 980 tons of wheat and about 980 tons of barley as tribute each year for the next three years
‭‭6 ”요담은 그의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 바르게 살았으므로 강력한 왕이 되었다.”Jotham became a mighty king because he lived uprightly before the Lord his God
‭‭7 “그 밖에 요담이 행한 일과 그 당시에 일어난 사건 및 전쟁 이야기는 이스라엘과 유다 왕들의 역사책에 기록되어 있다.”Other events that Jotham did, as well as the events and wars that took place at that time, are recorded in the history books of the kings of Israel and Judah
‭‭8 ”요담이 왕이 되었을 때는 그의 나이 25세였으며 그는 예루살렘에서 16년을 통치하였다.”Jotham was 25 years old when he became king, and he reigned 16 years in Jerusalem
‭‭9 “그는 죽어 다윗성에 장사되었고 그의 아들 아하스가 왕위를 계승하였다.”He died and was buried in the City of David, and his son Ahaz succeeded to the throne
