1 “여호와께서는 계속해서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.”Jehovah continued to speak to Job
‭‭2 ““네가 아직도 전능한 자와 다투겠느냐? 나 하나님을 책망하는 너는 이제 대답하라.””Will you still contend with the Almighty? You who blame God, now answer me
‭‭3 “그러자 욥이 이렇게 대답하였다.”Then Job answered:
‭‭4 ““나같이 보잘것없는 자가 주께 무엇이라고 대답하겠습니까? 다만 손으로 내 입을 가릴 뿐입니다.”What answer can a worthless person like me answer to the Lord? I just cover my mouth with my hand
‭‭5 “나는 이미 너무 많은 말을 하였습니다.””I've already said too much
‭‭6 “그때 여호와께서 다시 폭풍 가운데서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.”Then the Lord spoke to Job again out of the storm
‭‭7 ““너는 남자답게 일어나서 내가 묻는 말에 대답하라.”Stand up like a man and answer my questions
‭‭8 “너는 네가 의롭다는 말을 하기 위해서 내 심판을 무시하고 나를 죄인으로 단정할 셈이냐?”Are you going to ignore my judgment and declare me a sinner just to say that you are righteous?
‭‭9 “네가 나 같은 팔을 가졌으며 나만큼 우렁찬 소리를 낼 수 있느냐?”Do you have arms like mine and can make a loud noise like me?
‭‭10 “만일 그렇다면 네가 화려하고 아름답게 꾸미고 위엄과 영광의 옷을 입어라.”If so, be adorned with splendor and beautification, and be clothed in garments of majesty and glory
‭‭11 “너는 교만한 자들을 찾아 너의 분노를 쏟고 그들을 낮추라.”Find the proud and pour out your wrath on them and humble them
‭‭12 “다시 말하지만 교만한 자들을 모조리 찾아서 낮추고 악인들을 그들이 있는 곳에서 짓밟아”Again, seek out and humble all the proud and trample the wicked where they are
‭‭13 “모두 땅 속에 묻고 그 얼굴을 싸서 무덤에 두어라.”Bury them all in the ground, wrap their faces and put them in the tomb
‭‭14 “그러면 네 힘이 너를 구원할 수 있다고 내가 인정해 주겠다.”Then I will acknowledge that your strength can save you
‭‭15 ““너는 하마처럼 생긴 괴물을 보아라. 내가 너를 창조했듯이 그것도 창조하였다. 그 괴물은 소처럼 풀을 먹고 살지마는”You see a monster that looks like a hippopotamus. Just as I created you, I created that too. That monster doesn't eat grass like a cow
‭‭16 “그 허리와 배의 힘줄에는 강한 힘이 있다.”The tendons of the waist and stomach have great strength
‭‭17 “그 꼬리는 백향목처럼 곧고 넓적다리의 힘줄은 서로 굳게 결합되어 있으며”Its tail is as straight as a cedar tree, and the tendons of its thighs are tightly joined together
‭‭18 “그 뼈는 놋쇠처럼 단단하고 다리는 쇠막대기와 같다.”His bones are as strong as brass, and his legs are like bars of iron
‭‭19 “이것은 내가 창조한 것 중에서 가장 무서운 놈이다. 그것을 창조한 나도 칼을 들어야만 접근할 수 있다.”This is the scariest thing I've ever created. I, who created it, can only approach it by lifting a sword
‭‭20 “모든 들짐승이 노는 산이 그것을 위해 먹을 것을 만들어낸다.”The mountains where all the wild animals play produce food for them
‭‭21 “그것이 연꽃 아래나 습지의 갈대밭에 엎드리면”If it falls down under a lotus flower or in a marshy reed bed,
‭‭22 “연이나 수양버들이 그것을 그늘에 숨겨 준다.”A kite or a weeping willow hides it in the shade
‭‭23 “그 괴물은 홍수가 밀어닥쳐도 놀라지 않으며 요단 강물이 넘쳐 그 입에까지 와 닿아도 태연하다.”The monster is not surprised when the flood comes, and is calm even when the Jordan River overflows and reaches its mouth
‭‭24 “누가 감히 그것을 잡아 갈고리로 그 코를 꿸 수 있겠느냐?””Who would dare to catch it and pierce its nose with a hook?
