[현대인성경 KLB 사무엘하 9장] 다윗과 므비보셋 : David and Mephibosheth

1 “어느 날 다윗은 사울의 집안 사람 중에 아직도 살아 남은 자가 있을지도 모른다는 생각을 하게 되었다. 이것은 다윗이 요나단을 생각해서 그에게 은혜를 베풀고 싶었기 때문이었다.”(One day David came to the idea that some of Saul's household might still be alive. This was because David thought of Jonathan and wanted to be gracious to him)
‭‭2 “다윗은 사울의 종 중에 시바라는 사람이 있다는 말을 듣고 그를 불러 물었다. “네가 시바냐?” “예, 제가 시바입니다.””(When David heard that one of Saul's servants was Ziba, he summoned him and asked him. “Are you Shiva?” “Yes, I am Shiva.”)
‭‭3 ““사울의 집안에 살아 남은 자가 없느냐? 내가 그에게 은혜를 베풀고 싶다.” “요나단의 절뚝발이 아들 하나가 있습니다.””(“Is there no one left alive in Saul’s family? I want to do him a favor.” “He has a crippled son of Jonathan.”)
‭‭4 ““그가 어디에 있느냐?” “로-데발에 있는 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있습니다.””(“Where is he?” “In the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-thebal.”)
‭‭5-6 “그래서 다윗은 사람을 보내 사울의 손자이며 요나단의 아들인 므비보셋을 데려왔다. 그가 두려워하며 다윗에게 나아와 정중하게 절하자”(So David sent and brought Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and the grandson of Saul. He came to David in fear and bowed respectfully)
‭‭7 “다윗이 그에게 말하였다. “두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너의 아버지 요나단을 생각하여 너에게 은혜를 베풀려고 너를 불렀다. 내가 너의 할아버지 사울이 소유했던 땅을 모두 너에게 돌려 주고 또 내가 너를 항상 내 식탁에서 먹도록 하겠다.””(David said to him. “Do not be afraid. I have called you to be gracious to you because of your father Jonathan. I will return to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and I will always eat you at my table.”)
‭‭8 “그때 므비보셋이 왕 앞에 다시 절하며 말하였다. “이 종이 무엇인데 대왕께서 죽은 개와 같은 저에게 이런 친절을 베푸십니까?””(Then Mephibosheth bowed before the king again. “What kind of servant is this, that the great king shows such kindness to me, who is like a dead dog?”)
‭‭9 “그때 왕은 사울의 종 시바를 불러 이렇게 말하였다. “내가 사울과 그 가족이 소유했던 모든 것을 네 주인의 손자에게 주었다.”(Then the king summoned Saul's servant Ziba and said: “I gave everything that Saul and his family owned to your master’s grandson)
‭‭10 “그러므로 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 그를 위해 농사를 지어 그 가족에게 양식을 공급하라. 그러나 므비보셋은 항상 왕궁에 살면서 나와 함께 식사할 것이다” (시바에게는 15명의 아들과 20명의 종이 있었다).”(Therefore, you and your sons and your servants, farm for him and provide food for his family. But Mephibosheth will always live in the palace and dine with me” (Ziba had 15 sons and 20 servants))
‭‭11 “그러자 그는 “대왕께서 명령하신 대로 하겠습니다” 하고 대답하였다. 그때부터 므비보셋은 다윗의 식탁에서 왕자들과 함께 식사하였다.”(Then he replied, “I will do as the great king commands.” From then on, Mephibosheth ate at David's table with the princes)
‭‭12 “므비보셋에게는 미가라는 젊은 아들 하나가 있었으며 시바의 집에 사는 사람들이 모두 므비보셋의 종이 되었다.”(Mephibosheth had a young son named Micah, and all who lived in Ziba's household became Mephibosheth's servants)
‭‭13 “그러나 두 발을 다 저는 므비보셋은 항상 왕의 식탁에서 음식을 먹으며 예루살렘의 왕궁에서 살았다.”(But Mephibosheth, who was lame in both feet, lived in the king's palace in Jerusalem, always eating at the king's table)
