‭‭7 “우리 조상 때부터 지금까지 우리는 줄곧 죄만 지어 왔습니다. 우리의 죄 때문에 우리는 물론 우리 왕들과 제사장들이 외국 왕들의 손에 죽고 약탈을 당했으며 포로로 잡혀가 오늘날까지도 수모를 당하고 있습니다.”From the time of our ancestors until now, we have only sinned. ‭‭11 “주께서는 전에 주의 종 예언자들을 통하여 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘너희가 들어가서 소유할 땅은 더러운 땅이다. 그 곳에 사는 이방 민족들이 그 땅을 온통 더럽고 추한 것으로 가득 채웠다.”You have previously spoken to us through your servants the prophets. ‘The land you are going to possess is a dirty land. The foreign nations living there filled the whole land with filth and filth
‭‭12 “그러므로 그들과 서로 결혼하지 말고 그들의 평안과 번영을 추구하지 말아라. 그러면 너희가 막강해져서 번영을 누리며 그 땅을 너희 후손에게 유산으로 길이 물려 주게 될 것이다.’”Therefore do not intermarry with them and do not seek their peace and prosperity. Then you will become mighty and prosperous, and you will pass the land on to your descendants as an inheritance.’
‭‭13 ““지금까지 우리가 당한 모든 일은 우리의 악한 행위와 큰 죄의 결과였습니다. 그러나 우리 하나님은 우리가 지은 죄에 비해 우리의 형벌을 가볍게 하셔서 이와 같이 우리를 살아 남게 하셨습니다.”“Everything that has happened to us thus far has been the result of our evil deeds and great sins. But our God made our punishment light compared to the sins we committed, so that we might survive
‭‭14 “그런데도 우리가 다시 주의 명령을 어기고 이 악한 백성들과 결혼하였으니 어찌 주께서 우리에게 분노하시지 않겠습니까? 분명히 주는 우리를 전멸시키고 한 사람도 살아 남지 못하게 하실 것입니다.”How can you not be angry with us because we have again disobeyed your commandments and married these wicked people? Surely you will annihilate us and leave no one alive
‭‭15 “이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여, 주는 의로우신 분이십니다. 우리가 오늘날 이처럼 살아 남긴 했습니다만 우리가 주께 범죄하였으므로 감히 주 앞에 설 수가 없습니다.””O LORD God of Israel, you are righteous. We survived as we are today, but we dare not stand before you because we have sinned against you.”
