1 “성벽 건축 공사를 마치고 성문을 단 다음에 나는 성전 문지기와 성가대원과 레위 사람들에게 업무를 할당하고”After the work of the wall had been completed and the gates had been erected, I assigned the duties of the gatekeepers of the temple, the singers, and the Levites
‭‭2 “내 동생 하나니와 요새의 지휘관 하나냐에게 예루살렘을 다스릴 책임을 맡게 하였다. 하나냐는 그 누구보다도 성실하고 하나님을 두려워하는 사람이었다.”I put my brother Hanani and Hananiah, the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem. Hananiah was more sincere and God-fearing than anyone else
‭‭3 “그리고 나는 그들에게 해가 높이 떠오를 때까지는 예루살렘 성문을 열지 말며 문지기가 문을 지키고 있을 때 성문을 닫고 빗장을 지르도록 지시하였다. 나는 또 그들에게 예루살렘 주민들 가운데 경계병을 세워 각자 자기 초소와 자기 집 앞을 경계하게 하라고 지시하였다.”And I commanded them not to open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun had risen high, and to shut them and bolt them while the gatekeepers were guarding them. I also instructed them to set up guards among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each one to guard his post and in front of his house
‭‭4 “예루살렘은 크고 넓은 성이었으나 거기에 사는 사람이 많지 않아 아직 집을 많이 짓지 않았다.”Jerusalem was a large and spacious city, but not many people lived there, so many houses had not yet been built
‭‭5 “그래서 하나님이 내 마음을 감동시키셔서 백성들과 지도자들을 모아 각 집안별로 등록하도록 하셨다. 그때 나는 1차 귀환자들의 명단을 발견했는데 거기에는 이렇게 적혀 있었다:”So God moved my heart to gather the people and leaders and register them by family. At that time, I found a list of the first returnees, and it said:
‭‭6 “바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 포로로 잡혀갔던 수많은 사람들이 예루살렘과 유다와 그들의 각 성으로 돌아왔다.”Thousands of people who had been taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon returned to Jerusalem, Judah, and their cities
‭‭7 “이들과 함께 온 지도자들은 스룹바벨, 예수아, 느헤미야, 아사랴, 라아먀, 나하마니, 모르드개, 빌산, 미스베렛, 비그왜, 느훔, 바아나였다. 그리고 이 귀환자들의 인원을 각 자손별로 나열하면 다음과 같다:”The leaders who came with them were Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mishbereth, Bigwai, Nehum, and Baanah. And the number of these returnees, listed by descendant, is as follows:
‭‭8 “바로스 자손 2,172명,”2,172 descendants of Baros;
‭‭9 “스바댜 자손 372명,”372 descendants of Shephatiah;
‭‭10 “아라 자손 652명,”652 descendants of Ara,
‭‭11 “예수아와 요압 계통의 바핫 – 모압 자손 2,818명,”2,818 descendants of Moab from the lineage of Yeshua and Joab
‭‭12 “엘람 자손 1,254명,”1,254 sons of Elam;
‭‭13 “삿두 자손 845명,”845 descendants of Saddu;
‭‭14 “삭개 자손 760명,”760 descendants of Zacchaeus;
‭‭15 “빈누이 자손 648명,”648 descendants of Binnui;
‭‭16 “브배 자손 628명,”628 descendants of Bebae;
‭‭17 “아스갓 자손 2,322명,”2,322 descendants of Azgad;
‭‭18 “아도니감 자손 667명,”667 descendants of Adonigam;
‭‭19 “비그왜 자손 2,067명,”2,067 descendants of Bigwa;
‭‭20 “아딘 자손 655명,”655 descendants of Adin;
‭‭21 “히스기야 계통의 아델 자손 98명,”98 descendants of Ater through Hezekiah;
‭‭22 “하숨 자손 328명,”328 descendants of Hashum;
‭‭23 “베새 자손 324명,”324 sons of Beshai;
‭‭24 “하립 자손 112명,”112 descendants of Hari;
‭‭25 “기브온 사람 95명,”95 Gibeonites;
‭‭26 “베들레헴과 느도바 사람 188명,”188 men from Bethlehem and Netophath;
‭‭27 “아나돗 사람 128명,”128 men from Anathoth;
‭‭28 “벧 – 아스마 사람 42명,”Beth –  Asmathites 42;
‭‭29 “기럇 – 여아림과 그비라와 브에롯 사람 743명,”743 men from Kiriath-Jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth,”
‭‭30 “라마와 게바 사람 621명,”621 men from Ramah and Geba;
‭‭31 “믹마스 사람 122명,”122 people from Michmas;
‭‭32 “벧엘과 아이 사람 123명,”123 men from Bethel and Ai;
‭‭33 “느보 사람 52명,”52 Neboites;
‭‭34 “다른 엘람 사람 1,254명,”1,254 other Elamites;
‭‭35 “하림 사람 320명,”320 people from Harim;
‭‭36 “여리고 사람 345명,”345 men of Jericho;
‭‭37 “로드와 하딧과 오노 사람 721명,”721 men of Lod, Hadit, and Ono;
38 “스나아 사람 3,930명,”Senaites 3,930;
‭‭39 “제사장 중에서는 예수아 계통의 여다야 자손 973명,”Among the priests, 973 descendants of Jedaiah of the line of Yeshua;
‭‭40 “임멜 자손 1,052명,”1,052 descendants of Immer;
‭‭41 “바스훌 자손 1,247명,”1,247 descendants of Pashhur;
‭‭42 “하림 자손 1,017명,”1,017 descendants of Harim;
‭‭43 “레위 사람 중에서는 호다위야 계통의 예수아와 갓미엘 자손 74명,”Among the Levites, 74 sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel of the line of Hodawiah;
‭‭44 “성가대원인 아삽 자손 148명,”148 sons of Asaph, members of the choir;
‭‭45 “살룸과 아델과 달몬과 악굽과 하디다와 소배의 자손인 성전 문지기 138명이었다.”There were 138 gatekeepers, the descendants of Shallum, Ater, Talmon, Akkub, Hadita, and Shobai
‭‭46 “그리고 성전 봉사자들은 시하, 하수바, 답바옷,”And the servants of the temple were Siha, Hasubah, Dabbaoth,
‭‭47 “게로스, 시아, 바돈,”Geros, Shea, Badon,
‭‭48 “르바나, 하가바, 살매,”Revana, Hagava, Salmai,
‭‭49 “하난, 깃델, 가할,”Hanan, Giddel, Gahar,
‭‭50 “르아야, 르신, 느고다,”Reaiah, Rezin, Nechotha,
‭‭51 “갓삼, 웃사, 바세아,”Gadsam, Uzzah, Basea,
‭‭52 “베새, 므우님, 느부심,”Beshai, Meunim, Nebuzim,
‭‭53 “박북, 하그바, 할훌,”Bakbuk, Hagba, Halhul,
‭‭54 “바슬룻, 므히다, 하르사,”Basluth, Mehida, Harsha,
‭‭55 “바르고스, 시스라, 데마,”Varkos, Sisera, Tema,
‭‭56 “느시야, 하디바 – 이상 모든 사람들의 자손들이었다.”Nesiah and Hadibah were the descendants of all these people
‭‭57 “솔로몬왕 신하들의 자손들 중에서 돌아온 사람들은 소대 자손, 소베렛 자손, 브리다 자손,”Those who returned from among the descendants of King Solomon's servants: the children of Sodae, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
‭‭58 “야알라 자손, 다르곤 자손, 깃델 자손,”The children of Jaala, the children of Dargon, the children of Giddel,
‭‭59 “스바댜 자손, 핫딜 자손, 보게렛 – 하스바임 자손, 아몬 자손들이었다.”The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hatdil, the children of Pochereth, the children of Hasbaim, and the children of Amon
‭‭60 “이와 같이 성전 봉사자들과 솔로몬왕 신하들의 자손들 중에서 돌아온 사람들은 모두 392명이었다.”The total number of those who returned from among the servants of the temple and the descendants of King Solomon's servants was 392
‭‭61 “이때 페르시아의 델 – 멜라, 델 – 하르사, 그룹, 앗돈, 임멜 지방에서 예루살렘으로 돌아온 다른 집단도 있었으나 그들이 실제로 이스라엘 자손이라는 확실한 증거가 없었다.”At this time, other groups returned to Jerusalem from the Persian provinces of Del-Mela, Del-Harsha, Cherubim, Addon, and Immer, but there was no convincing proof that they were actually Israelites
‭‭62 “이들은 들라야와 도비야와 느고다 자손들로 모두 642명이었다.”These were the sons of Delaya, Tobiah, and Nekotha, a total of 642
‭‭63 “그리고 제사장들 중에서 호바야 자손과 학고스 자손, 그리고 길르앗 사람 바르실래의 딸과 결혼하여 처갓집 이름을 딴 바르실래의 자손들도 예루살렘으로 돌아왔는데”And from among the priests, the children of Hophaiah, the children of Hakkoz, and the children of Barzillai, who married the daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and named after her mother-in-law's house, returned to Jerusalem
‭‭64 “그들도 족보에서 그 신원이 밝혀지지 않았다. 그래서 이들은 부정한 자로 취급을 받아 제사장 직분을 수행하지 못했으며”Their identities were not revealed in the genealogy. Therefore, they were treated as unclean and could not perform the priestly duties
‭‭65 “유다 지도자는 제사장이 우림과 둠밈으로 하나님의 판결을 물어 그들이 실제로 제사장인지 아닌지 밝혀낼 때까지는 제사장이 먹는 거룩한 음식을 먹지 말라고 명령하였다.”The Judean leader commanded that the holy food eaten by the priests not be eaten until the priests had inquired of God through the Urim and Thummim to determine whether they were really priests or not
‭‭66-67 “이상과 같이 유다로 돌아온 사람들은 노예 7,337명과 남녀 성가대원 245명 외에 42,360명이었다.”As mentioned above, those who returned to Judah were 42,360 people, including 7,337 slaves and 245 male and female choir members
‭‭68-69 “또 그들은 말 736마리, 노새 245마리, 낙타 435마리, 당나귀 6,720마리도 함께 끌고 왔다.”They also brought 736 horses, 245 mules, 435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys
‭‭70 “그리고 많은 사람들이 성전을 재건하기 위해서 예물을 바쳤다. 그들의 지도자들이 바친 것은 금 8.4킬로그램과 대접 50개와 제사장복 530벌이었고”And many people made offerings to rebuild the temple. Their leaders contributed 8.4 kg of gold, 50 bowls, and 530 priestly garments
‭‭71 “족장들이 바친 것은 금 168킬로그램과 은 약 1,256킬로그램이었으며”The contributions of the chieftains were 168 kg of gold and about 1,256 kg of silver
‭‭72 “그 밖에 백성들이 바친 것은 금 168킬로그램과 은 1,142킬로그램과 제사장복 67벌이었다.”Other contributions from the people were 168 kg of gold, 1,142 kg of silver, and 67 priestly garments
‭‭73 “이렇게 해서 제사장, 레위 사람, 성전 문지기, 성가대원, 그 밖의 모든 백성들이 각자 자기 성에 정착하였다.”So the priests, the Levites, the temple gatekeepers, the choirs, and all the rest of the people settled down, each in his own city
