[현대인성경 KLB 구약 민수기 13장] 가나안 탐지 : Canaan detection

1 “여호와께서 모세에게 “너는 각 지파의 지도자들 가운데 한 사람씩 뽑아”(The LORD said to Moses, “Choose one of the leaders of each tribe)
‭‭2 “내가 너희에게 줄 가나안 땅을 탐지해 오게 하라” 하고 말씀하셨다.”(Let them search out the land of Canaan, which I am giving you“)
‭‭3 “그래서 모세는 여호와의 명령대로 바란 광야에서 각 지파의 지도자들을 뽑아 정찰대원으로 파견했는데”(So Moses selected the leaders of each tribe in the Wilderness of Paran and sent them out as scouts, as the Lord had commanded)
‭‭4 “그들은 다음과 같다:”(they are as follows)
‭‭5 “시므온 지파에서 호리의 아들 사밧,”(From the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori)
‭‭6 “유다 지파에서 여분네의 아들 갈렙,”(Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah)
‭‭7 “잇사갈 지파에서 요셉의 아들 이갈,”(Igal son of Joseph from the tribe of Issachar)
‭‭8 “에브라임 지파에서 눈의 아들 호세아,”(Hoshea son of Nun from the tribe of Ephraim)
‭‭9 “베냐민 지파에서 라부의 아들 발디,”(From the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Rabu)
‭‭10 “스불론 지파에서 소디의 아들 갓디엘,”(From the tribe of Zebulun, Gadtiel son of Sodi)
‭‭11 “므낫세 지파에서 수시의 아들 갓디,”(Gaddi son of Susi from the tribe of Manasseh)
‭‭12 “단 지파에서 그말리의 아들 암미엘,”(From the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemali)
‭‭13 “아셀 지파에서 미가엘의 아들 스둘,”(Setur son of Michael from the tribe of Asher)
‭‭14 “납달리 지파에서 웝시의 아들 나비,”(From the tribe of Naphtali, Nabi son of Wexish)
‭‭15 “갓 지파에서 마기의 아들 그우엘이었다.”(He was Geuel son of Magi from the tribe of Gad)
‭‭16 “이상은 모세가 가나안 땅을 탐지하러 보낸 정찰대원들이다. 모세는 눈의 아들 호세아의 이름을 여호수아로 고쳤다.”(These are the scouts sent by Moses to explore the land of Canaan. Moses changed the name of Hoshea son of Nun to Joshua)
‭‭17 “모세는 정찰대원들을 가나안 땅으로 보내면서 이렇게 지시하였다. “너희는 여기서 북쪽으로 올라가 가나안 남쪽 지방인 네겝으로 가서 산간 지대로 들어가”(When Moses sent out scouts into the land of Canaan, he gave these instructions: “Go north from here into the Negev, south of Canaan, into the hill country)
‭‭18 “그 땅의 지형을 살피고 거기에 살고 있는 사람들이 강한지 약한지, 인구는 얼마나 되는지,”(Examine the topography of the land, determine whether the people who live there are strong or weak, and how large the population is)
‭‭19 “그들이 사는 땅이 좋은지 나쁜지, 그리고 그들이 어떤 도시에 살고 있으며 거기에 성벽이 있는지 없는지,”(whether the land they live in is good or bad, and what city they live in, whether it has walls or not;)
‭‭20 “또 그 땅 토질이 비옥한지 메마른지, 나무들은 있는지 없는지 알아보고 오너라. 그리고 잊지 말고 그 땅의 과일을 가져오너라” (그 때는 포도가 익기 시작하는 계절이었다).”(Also, find out whether the soil is fertile or dry, whether there are trees or not, and then come. And do not forget to bring the fruit of the land” (It was the season when the grapes began to ripen)
‭‭21 “그래서 그들은 북쪽으로 가서 진 광야에서부터 하맛 근처 르홉에 이르는 모든 땅을 탐지하였으며”(So they went north and searched all the land from the Wilderness of Zin to Rehob near Hamath)
‭‭22 “가나안 남쪽 네겝을 거쳐 헤브론에 도착하였다. 그곳은 이집트의 소안보다 7년 먼저 건설된 곳으로 아낙 후손인 아히만과 세새와 달매 자손들이 살고 있었다.”(They passed through the Negev south of Canaan and arrived at Hebron. It was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt, and the descendants of Anak, Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai lived there)
‭‭23 “그들은 또 에스골 골짜기로 들어가 포도 한 송이가 달린 가지를 꺾어서 막대기에 꿰어 두 사람이 메고 또 석류와 무화과도 따서 가지고 왔다.”(They went into the Valley of Eshcol and cut off a branch with a bunch of grapes on it, put it on a pole, carried it on two men, and also picked pomegranates and figs and brought them back)
‭‭24 “이스라엘 사람들이 거기서 포도송이를 땄으므로 그 곳을 ‘에스골’ 골짜기라고 불렀다.”(The Israelites picked clusters of grapes there, so they called the place the Valley of Eshcol)
‭‭25 “그들은 40일 동안 그 땅을 탐지하고 돌아와서”(They searched the land for 40 days and returned)
‭‭26 “바란 광야 가데스에 있는 모세와 아론과 모든 이스라엘 백성에게 자기들이 본 것을 이야기하며 가지고 온 과일을 보여 주었다.”(He told Moses and Aaron and all the Israelites in Kadesh in the Wilderness of Paran what they had seen and showed them the fruit they had brought.)
‭‭27 “그리고 그들은 모세에게 이렇게 보고하였다. “우리가 그 곳에 가 보니 정말 기름지고 비옥한 땅이었습니다. 이것이 거기서 가져온 과일입니다.”(And they reported to Moses: “When we went there, it was a very rich and fertile land. This is the fruit from there)
‭‭28 “그러나 그 곳에 살고 있는 사람들은 강할 뿐만 아니라 그들의 도시들은 아주 크고 성곽으로 둘러싸인 요새였습니다. 게다가 거기에는 거인 아낙 자손까지 살고 있었습니다.”(But the people who live there are not only strong, but their cities are very large and fortified with walls. In addition, the descendants of the giant Anak lived there)
‭‭29 “그리고 그 땅의 남쪽 지방인 네겝에는 아말렉족이, 산간 지방에는 헷족과 여부스족과 아모리족이, 지중해 연안과 요단 강변에는 가나안족이 살고 있었습니다.”(And the Amalekites lived in the Negev in the south of the land, the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites lived in the mountainous region, and the Canaanites lived along the Mediterranean Sea and along the Jordan River)
30 “갈렙이 모세 앞에 있는 백성들을 안심시키며 “자, 올라가서 그 땅을 점령합시다. 우리는 충분히 그들을 이길 수 있습니다” 하자”(Caleb reassured the people in front of Moses and said, “Let’s go up and take the land. We can beat them well enough”)
‭‭31 “그렇지 않습니다. 우리는 그들을 당해 낼 수가 없습니다. 그들은 우리보다 훨씬 강합니다” 하고 다른 정찰대원들이 반박하였다.”(It's not like that. We can't stand them. They are much stronger than we are,” the other scouts retorted.)
‭‭32 “그리고 그들은 자기들이 탐지한 땅에 대하여 사람들에게 나쁜 소문을 퍼뜨리며 이렇게 말하였다. “그 땅에는 힘 센 장사들이 수두룩하고 사람들의 키가 모두 컸으며”(And they spread a bad report among the people about the land they had spied out, saying: “The land was full of mighty warriors, and all the people were tall)
‭‭33 “게다가 우리는 네피림의 후손인 거인 아낙 자손들도 거기 있는 것을 보았습니다. 우리가 보기에도 우리 자신들이 메뚜기처럼 느껴졌는데 그들의 눈에도 우리가 그 정도밖에 보이지 않았을 것입니다.””(Besides, we saw that the descendants of the Nephilim, the giant Anak, were also there. Even to us, we felt like locusts, but they couldn't see us that much“)
