1 “그 재앙이 그친 후에 여호와께서 모세와 아론의 아들 제사장 엘르아살에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.”(After the plagues were over, the LORD said to Moses and to Aaron's son Eleazar the priest:)
‭‭2 “모든 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 전쟁에 나가 싸울 수 있는 20세 이상의 사람이 몇 명이나 되는지 각 집안별로 조사하여라.”(Find out, by family, how many of all the Israelites from 20 years of age or older are able to fight in battle)
3-4 “그래서 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 여리고 맞은편에 있는 요단 강변의 모압 평야에서 이스라엘 지도자들에게 지시하여 20세 이상의 남자들을 조사하게 하였는데 이집트에서 나온 사람들 가운데 20세 이상의 남자들은 다음과 같다:”(So Moses and Eleazar the priest instructed the Israelite leaders in the plains of Moab on the Jordan opposite Jericho to search for men over 20 years of age)
5-7 “야곱의 장남 르우벤의 자손들인 하녹, 발루, 헤스론, 갈미의 집안에서 20세 이상의 남자가 43,730명이었다.”(Of the families of Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi, the descendants of Jacob's eldest son Reuben, there were 43,730 males 20 years old and up)
‭‭8 “그리고 발루의 아들은 엘리압이며”(And Balu's son was Eliab)
‭‭9 “엘리압의 아들은 느무엘과 다단과 아비람이었다. 이 다단과 아비람은 백성의 지도자로서 고라와 음모하여 모세와 아론을 반역하고 여호와를 거역한 자들인데”(Eliab's sons were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These Dathan and Abiram were the leaders of the people, who conspired with Korah to rebel against Moses and Aaron and rebelled against the LORD)
‭‭10 “이들은 땅이 입을 벌려 고라의 일당을 삼켰을 때 그들과 함께 죽음을 당했다. 그리고 그때 불이 고라의 추종자 250명을 태워 죽여 이스라엘 백성에게 경고가 되었으나”(They died with them when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed Kora's men. And then a fire burned and killed 250 of Korah's followers as a warning to the Israelites)
‭‭11 “고라의 아들들만은 죽지 않았다.”(Korah's sons did not die)
‭‭12-14 “시므온의 자손들인 느무엘, 야민, 야 긴, 세라, 사울 집안에서는 20세 이상의 남자가 22,200명,”(Of the descendants of Simeon, Nemuel, Jamin, Jachin, Zerah, and Saul, 22,200 males from 20 years old and up)
‭‭15-18 “갓의 자손들인 스본, 학기, 수니, 오스니, 에리, 아로디, 아렐리 집안에서는 40,500명,”(Of the children of Gad, Zephon, Haggi, Shuni, Osni, Eri, Arodi, and Areli, 40,500)
‭‭19-22 “유다의 자손들인 셀라, 베레스, 세라, 헤스론, 하물의 집안에서는 76,500명이었다. 유다의 두 아들인 엘과 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었다.”(Of the children of Judah, Shelah, Perez, Zerah, Hezron, and Hamul, 76,500. The two sons of Judah, Er and Onan, died in the land of Canaan)
23-25 “그리고 잇사갈의 자손들인 돌라, 부아, 야숩, 시므론 집안에서는 64,300명,”(And of the children of Issachar, Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron, 64,300)
‭‭26-27 “스불론의 자손들인 세렛, 엘론, 얄르엘 집안에서는 60,500명이었다.”(Of the descendants of Zebulun, of the families of Zered, Elon, and Jaleel, 60,500)
‭‭28 “요셉의 아들들은 므낫세와 에브라임이며”(The sons of Joseph were Manasseh and Ephraim)
‭‭29 “므낫세의 자손들은 마길과 길르앗 집안 사람들이었다.”(The descendants of Manasseh were the families of Machir and Gilead)
‭‭30-32 “그리고 길르앗 집안에서 이에셀, 헬렉, 아스리엘, 세겜, 스미다, 헤벨 가족이 생겼으며”(And from the house of Gilead came the families of Ieser, Helech, Asriel, Shechem, Shemida, and Heber)
‭‭33 “헤벨의 아들 슬로브핫에게는 아들이 없고 딸만 있었는데 그들의 이름은 말라, 노아, 호글라, 밀가, 디르사였다.”(Zelophehad the son of Heber had no sons, but only daughters, whose names were Mala, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah)
‭‭34 “이들은 다 므낫세의 자손들이며 이들 집안 가운데서 20세 이상의 남자는 모두 52,700명이었다.”(These were all descendants of Manasseh, of whom there were 52,700 males 20 years of age and older)
‭‭35 “에브라임의 자손들은 수델라, 베겔, 다한 집안 사람들이었으며”(The descendants of Ephraim were the families of Suthelah, Bekel, and Tahan)
‭‭36 “수델라 집안에서 에란 가족이 생겼다.”(The Eran family was born from the Sudela family)
‭‭37 “이들은 다 에브라임 자손들이며 이들 집안 가운데서 20세 이상의 남자는 모두 32,500명이었다.”(All these were the descendants of Ephraim, and of these families there were 32,500 males 20 years old and up)
‭‭38-39 “베냐민 자손들은 벨라, 아스벨, 아히 람, 스부밤, 후밤 집안 사람들이었으며”(The descendants of Benjamin were the families of Bela, Ashbel, Ahiram, Zebubam, and Hubam)
‭‭40 “벨라 집안에서 아릇과 나아만 가족이 생겼다.”(The families of Ard and Naaman were born in Bela's family)
‭‭41 “이들은 베냐민의 자손들이며 이들 집안에서 20세 이상의 남자는 45,600명이었다.”(These were the descendants of Benjamin, and of these families there were 45,600 males 20 years old and up)
‭‭42-43 “그리고 단의 자손인 수함 집안에서는 20세 이상의 남자가 64,400명이었다.”(And of Shuham, descendant of Dan, there were 64,400 males from 20 years of age and up)
‭‭44 “아셀의 자손들은 임나, 이스위, 브리아 집안 사람들이며”(The descendants of Asher were the families of Imnah, Ishvite, and Beriah)
‭‭45 “브리아 집안에서 헤벨과 말기엘 가족이 생겼다.”(Hebel and Malgiel came from the Bria family)
‭‭46 “또 아셀에게는 세라라는 딸이 있었다.”(Asher also had a daughter named Zerah)
‭‭47 “이들은 아셀의 자손들이며 이들 집안에서 20세 이상의 남자는 53,400명이었다.”(These are the descendants of Asher; of these families there were 53,400 males 20 years old and up)
‭‭48-50 “그리고 납달리 자손들인 야셀, 구니, 예셀, 실렘 집안에서는 20세 이상의 남자가 45,400명이었다.”(And of the sons of Naphtali, Jazer, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem, there were 45,400 males from 20 years old and up)
‭‭51 “이상은 이스라엘 백성 가운데 20세 이상의 남자들이며 그 전체 인원은 601,730명이었다.”(These were males 20 years of age or older among the Israelites, and the total number was 601,730)
‭‭52 “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.”(Jehovah spoke to Moses)
‭‭53 “너는 그들의 인원수에 비례하여 땅을 나누어 주어라.”(Divide the land in proportion to their number)
‭‭54 “인원수가 많은 지파에게는 많은 땅을 주고 인원수가 적은 지파에게는 땅을 적게 주어라.”(Give more land to the tribe with more people, and less land to the tribe with few people)
‭‭55 “그러나 각 지파의 조상 이름을 따라서”(However, according to the name of the ancestor of each tribe)
‭‭56 “인원수가 많은 지파들은 넓은 땅을 차지할 지파들끼리 제비를 뽑고 인원수가 적은 지파들은 적은 땅을 차지할 지파들끼리 제비를 뽑게 하라.”(Let the tribes with a large number of people cast lots among the tribes for a large area, and the tribes with a small number of people must cast lots among the tribes for a small area)
‭‭57 “레위 지파는 게르손, 고핫, 므라리 집안 사람들로 구성되었으며”(The tribe of Levi consisted of the families of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari)
‭‭58 “그들의 자손들은 립니, 헤브론, 마흘리, 무시, 고라 가족이었다. 그리고 고핫은 아므람을 낳았고”(Their descendants were the families of Lipni, Hebron, Mahli, Mushi, and Korah. And Kohath fathered Amram)
‭‭59 “아므람의 아내는 이집트에서 태어난 레위의 딸 요게벳이었으며 아므람과 요게벳 사이에서 아론과 모세와 그들의 누이 미리암이 태어났다.”(Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born in Egypt. Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam were born to Amram and Jochebed)
‭‭60 “그리고 아론에게는 나답, 아비후, 엘르아살, 이다말 네 아들이 있었으며”(And Aaron had four sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar)
‭‭61 “나답과 아비후는 여호와께서 명령하시지 않은 다른 불로 분향하다가 죽었다.”(Nadab and Abihu died while burning incense with a different fire than the Lord had commanded)
‭‭62 “이들 레위 사람들은 분배받을 땅이 없었기 때문에 별도로 인구 조사를 받았는데 그들 가운데 1개월 이상의 남자는 모두 23,000명이었다.”(Since these Levites had no land to share, they were census separately, and among them all males a month old and older numbered 23,000)
‭‭63 “이상은 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여리고 맞은편에 있는 요단 강변의 모압 평야에서 실시한 인구 조사였다.”(This was the census conducted by Moses and the priest Eleazar in the plains of Moab on the Jordan River opposite Jericho)
‭‭64 “그러나 여기에는 모세와 제사장 아론이 시나이 광야에서 인구 조사를 실시할 당시의 사람들은 하나도 포함되지 않았다.”(However, this did not include any of the people at the time Moses and Aaron the priest took a census in the Sinai Wilderness)
‭‭65 “여호와께서는 그들이 광야에서 다 죽을 것이라고 말씀하셨으므로 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아 외에는 한 사람도 살아 남은 자가 없었다.”(The Lord had said that they would all perish in the wilderness, so no one survived except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun)
