[현대인성경 KLB 구약 민수기 31장] 미디안 사람들에 대한 보복 : Retribution against the Midianites

1 “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.(Jehovah spoke to Moses)
2 “너는 미디안 사람들에게 이스라엘 백성의 원수를 갚아라. 그러고 나면 너는 죽게 될 것이다.”(You must avenge the Israelites against the Midianites. then you will die)
‭‭3 “그래서 모세는 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. “미디안과 싸울 사람들을 무장시켜 여호와의 원수를 갚읍시다.”(So Moses said to the people: “Let’s arm the men to fight against Midian and avenge the LORD)
4 “각 지파에서 1,000명씩 뽑아 전쟁터에 내보내시오.”(Select 1,000 men from each tribe and send them to the battlefield)
5 “그래서 그들은 각 지파에서 1,000명씩 뽑아 모두 12,000명을 무장시켰다.”(So they took 1,000 men from each tribe and armed them with 12,000 men)
‭‭6 “모세는 그들을 전쟁터로 내보내면서 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스도 성소의 기구와 신호 나팔을 가지고 따라가게 하였다.”(Moses sent them out into battle, and Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest followed him with the utensils of the sanctuary and the signal trumpets)
‭‭7 “그들은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서 남자들을 모조리 죽이고”(They struck Midian and killed all the males, just as the LORD had commanded Moses)
‭‭8 “그 밖에 미디안의 다섯 왕 에위, 레겜, 수르, 후르, 레바를 죽였으며 그들은 또 브올의 아들 발람도 칼로 죽였다.”(In addition, they killed the five kings of Midian, Ewi, Rechem, Shur, Hur, and Leba, and they also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword)
‭‭9 “그리고 이스라엘군은 미디안 여자들과 아이들을 사로잡고 가축을 포함한 그들의 모든 재산을 약탈하였으며”(And the Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and plundered all their possessions, including livestock)
‭‭10 “그들의 성과 마을은 모조리 불태워 버렸다.”(They burned down their castles and villages)
‭‭11-12 “그리고 그들은 빼앗은 전리품을 가지 고 짐승들과 사로잡은 자들을 끌고 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 백성들이 진을 치고 있는 여리고 맞은편에 있는 요단 강변의 모압 평야를 향해 출발하였다.”(And they took the booty, and led the animals and the captives, and set out toward the plains of Moab by the Jordan, opposite Jericho, where Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the people were encamped)
‭‭13 “모세와 엘르아살과 백성의 지도자들이 개선하는 이스라엘군을 환영하러 진영 밖으로 나갔다.”(Moses, Eleazar, and the leaders of the people went out of the camp to welcome the triumphant Israelites)
‭‭14 “그러나 모세는 전쟁터에서 돌아온 지휘관들에게 화를 내며 이렇게 말하였다.”(But Moses was angry with the commanders who returned from the battlefield and said:)
‭‭15 “어째서 귀관들은 여자들을 모두 살려 두었소?”(Why did you keep all the women alive?)
‭‭16 “이들이 바로 발람의 조언에 따라 브올에서 이스라엘 백성을 유혹하여 여호와께 범죄하게 하고 그들 가운데 전염병이 퍼지게 한 장본인들이 아니오?”(Are they not the ones who, on Balaam's advice, seduced the Israelites at Peor to sin against the Lord, and spread the plague among them?)
‭‭17 “이제 귀관들은 남자 아이들을 모조리 죽이고 남자와 성관계를 가진 여자들도 다 죽이시오.”(Now you, kill all the boys, and kill all the women who have sex with men)
‭‭18 “그러나 남자와 성관계를 갖지 않은 여자들은 귀관들을 위해 살려 두어도 좋소.”(But women who have not had sex with men may be kept alive for your sake)
‭‭19 “귀관들은 사람을 죽이고 시체를 만졌으니 7일 동안 진영 밖에 있으시오. 3일째 되는 날과 7일째 되는 날에는 귀관들과 사로잡혀온 자들이 다 몸을 깨끗이 하도록 하시오.”(Since you killed people and touched dead bodies, stay outside the camp for 7 days. On the third and seventh days, you and all the captives are to purify themselves)
‭‭20 “그리고 모든 의복과 가죽 제품, 염소털이나 나무로 만든 물건도 다 정결하게 하시오.”(And purify all clothing and leather goods, goat hair and wood products)
‭‭21 “그런 다음 제사장 엘르아살이 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들에게 이렇게 말하였다. “이것은 여호와께서 모세에게 주신 법령입니다.”(Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone to war: “This is the statute the Lord gave to Moses)
‭‭22-23 “여러분은 금, 은, 동, 철, 주석, 납과 같 이 불에 타지 않는 것은 불에 통과시킨 다음 정결하게 하는 물로 깨끗하게 하고 불에 타는 모든 물건은 그 물로 정결하게 해야 합니다.”(Anything that does not burn, such as gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, or lead, you must pass through the fire and then purify it with purifying water, and everything that burns with it you must purify with that water)
‭‭24 “그리고 여러분은 7일째 되는 날에 옷을 빠십시오. 그러면 여러분이 깨끗하게 되어 진영 안으로 들어올 수 있을 것입니다.”(And you wash your clothes on the seventh day. Then you will be cleansed and you will be able to come into the camp)
‭‭25 “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.”(Jehovah spoke to Moses)
‭‭26 “너는 제사장 엘르아살과 백성의 지도자들과 함께 사로잡혀온 사람과 약탈해 온 짐승의 수를 파악하고”(You and Eleazar the priest and the leaders of the people will count the number of the captives and the beasts that have been plundered)
‭‭27 “사람과 짐승을 포함하여, 모든 전리품을 반으로 나누어 절반은 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들에게 주고 절반은 백성들에게 주어라.”(Divide all the loot, both man and beast, in half, give half to the soldiers who went to war, and half to the people)
‭‭28 “그리고 군인들이 분배받은 사람과 소와 나귀와 양떼 중에서 500분의 1은 나 여호와의 몫으로 떼어”(And of the people, oxen, donkeys, and flocks that the soldiers were allotted, 1 out of 500 was set aside for the LORD)
29 “나에게 바치는 특별한 예물로 엘르아살에게 주고”(Give it to Eleazar as a special gift for me)
‭‭30 “백성들이 분배받은 사람과 소와 나귀와 양떼 중에서는 50분의 1을 떼어 성막을 맡은 레위인들에게 주어라.”(Of the people, of the oxen, of the donkeys, and of the flock, the people are to take one fifty percent and give it to the Levites who are in charge of the tabernacle)
‭‭31 “그래서 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 여호와의 명령대로 하였다.”(So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord had commanded)
‭‭32 “군인들이 개인적으로 가진 전리품 외에 그들이 백성들에게 끌고 온 짐승은 양이 675,000마리,”(In addition to the trophies the soldiers had personally, the animals they brought to the people were 675,000 sheep)
33 “소가 72,000마리,”(72,000 cattle)
‭‭34 “나귀가 61,000마리이며”(61,000 donkeys)
‭‭35 “그들이 사로잡아온 사람은 남자와 성관계를 하지 않은 여자 32,000명이었다.”(They captured 32,000 women who had not had sexual relations with men)
‭‭36-40 “그리고 그것의 절반, 곧 군인들이 분배 받은 것은 양 337,500마리, 소 36,000마리, 나귀 30,500마리, 사람 16,000명이었으며 그 중에서 여호와께 드린 것은 양 675마리, 소 72마리, 나귀 61마리, 사람 32명이었다.”(And half of it, the portion given to the soldiers, was 337,500 sheep, 36,000 oxen, 30,500 donkeys, and 16,000 men.)
‭‭41 “모세는 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 여호와의 몫으로 거둔 것을 다 제사장 엘르아살에게 주었다.”(Moses gave Eleazar the priest all that the LORD had gathered, as the LORD had commanded)
‭‭42-46 “그리고 모세는 군인들에게 나누어 주고 남은 절반은 이스라엘 백성에게 주었는데 그것은 양 337,500마리, 소 36,000마리, 나귀 30,500마리, 사람 16,000명이었다.”(And Moses divided it among the soldiers, and gave the rest to the Israelites: 337,500 sheep, 36,000 oxen, 30,500 donkeys, and 16,000 men)
‭‭47 “모세는 또 여호와의 명령대로 백성들이 분배받은 것 중에서 50분의 1을 거두어 성막을 맡은 레위인들에게 주었다.”(Moses also took 1/50 of the people's allotment, as the Lord commanded, and gave it to the Levites who were in charge of the tabernacle)
‭‭48-49 “그 후에 군 지휘관들이 모세에게 와서 이렇게 말하였다. “우리가 부하들의 인원을 점검한 결과 희생자가 한 사람도 없습니다.”(Afterward the military commanders came to Moses and said: “We have checked the number of our men and there are no casualties)
‭‭50 “그래서 우리가 가지고 온 발목고리, 팔찌, 반지, 귀고리, 목걸이와 같은 금패물을 우리 생명에 대한 감사 예물로 여호와께 드립니다.”(So, we present the gold jewelry we brought with us, such as anklets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, as thanks offerings to the Lord for our lives)
‭‭51 “모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 그들에게서 금패물을 받았는데”(Moses and Eleazar the priest received gold from them)
‭‭52 “그 금의 전체 무게는 약 190킬로그램이었으며”(The total weight of the gold was about 190 kg)
‭‭53 “이것은 군인들이 개인적으로 가지고 온 전리품이었다.”(These were trophies brought personally by the soldiers)
‭‭54 “모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 그 금을 성막으로 가지고 가서 이스라엘 백성의 기념물로 여호와 앞에 두었다.”(Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold to the tabernacle and placed it before the LORD as a memorial for the people of Israel)
