[현대인성경 KLB 구약 사무엘하 24장] 다윗의 인구 조사 : David's Census

1 “여호와께서 다시 이스라엘 백성에게 분노하시자 다윗은 “가서 이스라엘과 유다의 인구를 조사하라” 는 충동을 받게 되었다.”(Jehovah’s anger against the Israelites again urged David to “go and count Israel and Judah”)
‭‭2 “그래서 그는 그의 군대 총사령관인 요압에게 “너는 단에서 브엘세바까지 전국을 돌아다니면서 인구를 조사하여 나에게 보고하라” 하고 명령하였다.”(So he commanded Joab, commander-in-chief of his army, "Go all over the country from Dan to Beersheba, count the people and report to me.")
‭‭3 “그러나 요압은 이렇게 대답하였다. “왕의 하나님 여호와께서 이 백성의 수를 지금보다 백 배나 더 많게 하시고 또 왕이 그 날까지 사시기를 바랍니다. 그런데 왕은 어째서 이런 일을 하려고 하십니까?””(But Joab replied: “May the Lord your God increase the number of this people a hundred times more than they are now, and may the king live to that day. But why do you want to do this, the king?”)
‭‭4 “그러나 왕이 강압적으로 나오자 요압과 군 지휘관들은 하는 수 없이 이스라엘의 인구를 조사하려고 왕 앞에서 물러나왔다.”(However, when the king came out forcefully, Joab and the military commanders were forced to withdraw from the king to count the population of Israel)
‭‭5 “그들은 먼저 요단강을 건너 야셀 부근의 갓 골짜기 한가운데 있는 성 남쪽의 아로엘 부근에 숙소를 정했으며”(They first crossed the Jordan River and settled down near Aroer, south of the city in the middle of the Gad Valley near Jazer)
‭‭6 “거기서 그들은 다시 길르앗과 닷딤-홋시 땅으로 가서 단-야안에 이르고 시돈을 돌아”(From there they went again to the lands of Gilead and Tattim-Hodshi, to Dan-Jaan, and around Sidon)
‭‭7 “두로의 요새를 거쳐 히위 사람과 가나안 사람의 모든 성을 다 다녔으며 마지막으로 그들은 유다의 남쪽 지방인 브엘세바까지 가서 인구 조사를 하였다.”(After passing through the fortress of Tyre, they went through all the cities of the Hivites and Canaanites, and finally they went as far as Beersheba, the southern province of Judah, and took a census)
‭‭8 “이와 같이 그들은 전국을 두루 다니면서 9개월 20일 만에 인구 조사를 마치고 예루살렘으로 돌아와서”(In this way, they traveled all over the country, completed the census after 9 months and 20 days, and returned to Jerusalem)
‭‭9 “왕에게 그 결과를 보고했는데 전쟁에 나가 싸울 수 있는 사람들이 이스라엘에서 80만, 유다에서 50만이었다.”(The result was reported to the king, and 800,000 men in Israel and 500,000 in Judah were able to fight)
‭‭10 “그러나 다윗은 인구 조사를 한 후에 양심의 가책을 받아 여호와께 이렇게 부르짖었다. “내가 이 일로 큰 죄를 범했습니다. 여호와여, 이제 종의 죄를 용서해 주소서. 내가 아주 미련한 짓을 하였습니다.””(But after taking the census, David, having a guilty conscience, cried out to Jehovah: “I have committed a great sin in this matter. Lord, now forgive the sins of your servant. I have done something very foolish.”)
‭‭11-12 “그 다음날 아침 여호와께서 다윗의 예언자 갓에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 다윗에게 가서 내가 이렇게 말한다고 전하여라. ‘내가 너에게 세 가지 일을 제시하겠다. 너는 그 중 하나를 택하라. 그러면 내가 그것을 실행하겠다.’ ””(The next morning the Lord spoke to Gad, David's prophet. “You go and tell David that I am saying this. ‘I will present you with three things. you choose one of them Then I will do it.’ ”)
‭‭13 “그래서 갓은 다윗에게 가서 여호와의 말씀을 전하고 그에게 물었다. “왕은 이 땅에 3년 동안의 기근과 왕의 대적에게 석 달을 쫓겨다니는 것과 3일 동안의 무서운 전염병 중에서 어느 것을 택하시겠습니까? 잘 생각해 보시고 내가 여호와께 대답할 말을 일러 주십시오.”(So, Gad conveys the restored Word to Jae-gyeong and asks him. “Which one did you choose, which brought upon the land three years of famine, three months of being chased by your enemies, or three days of a terrible pestilence? Think carefully)
‭‭14 “그러자 다윗은 이렇게 대답하였다. “내 입장이 정말 난처하게 되었소. 하지만 나는 사람에게 벌을 받고 싶지는 않소. 여호와께서는 자비로우신 분이시니 여호와께서 직접 벌하게 하시오.””(Then David replied: “My position is really embarrassing. But I don't want to be punished by people. Jehovah is merciful, let Jehovah himself punish you.”)
‭‭15 “그래서 여호와께서는 그 날 아침부터 정하신 때까지 이스라엘 땅에 무서운 전염병을 내리셨는데 단에서부터 브엘세바까지 이스라엘 전역에서 죽은 자가 70,000명이나 되었다.”(So the Lord sent a terrible plague upon the land of Israel from that morning until the appointed time, and 70,000 people died throughout Israel from Dan to Beersheba)
‭‭16 “여호와의 천사가 예루살렘을 치려고 했을 때 여호와께서는 마음을 돌이키시고 그들을 죽이려는 천사에게 “그만하면 됐다. 이제 네 손을 거두어라” 하셨다. 그때 그 천사는 여부스 사람 아라우나의 타작 마당에 있었다.”(When the angel of the Lord tried to attack Jerusalem, the Lord changed his mind and said to the angel who was about to kill them, “Enough. Now withdraw your hand.” Then the angel was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite)
‭‭17 “다윗은 백성을 죽이는 천사를 보고 여호와께 부르짖었다. “죄를 지은 사람도 나이고 악을 행한 사람도 나입니다. 그런데 이 불쌍한 백성들이 무엇을 했다고 벌을 주십니까? 차라리 나와 내 집안을 벌하십시오.””(When David saw the angel killing the people, he cried out to the Lord. “I am the one who sinned, and I am the one who did evil. But what do you punish these poor people for? Rather punish me and my household.”)
‭‭18 “그 날 갓이 다윗에게 가서 “여부스 사람 아라우나의 타작 마당에 가셔서 여호와께 단을 쌓으십시오” 하자”(That same day Gad went to David and said, "Go to the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite and build an altar to the LORD.")
‭‭19 “다윗은 갓이 말한 대로 여호와의 명령에 순종하여 그 곳으로 갔다.”(David obeyed the Lord's command as Gad had said and went there)
‭‭20 “아라우나는 왕과 그의 신하들이 자기 쪽으로 오는 것을 보고 나가서 왕 앞에 얼굴을 땅에 대고 절하며 말하였다.”(When Araunah saw the king and his servants coming toward him, he went out and bowed down with his face to the ground before the king)
‭‭21 ““대왕께서 무슨 일로 이 종에게 오셨습니까?” “너의 타작 마당을 사서 내가 여호와께 단을 쌓아 이 백성에게 내리는 재앙을 그치게 하고자 한다.””(“Why did the great king come to this servant?” “I am going to buy your threshing floor so that I can build an altar to the Lord so that the plague on this people may cease.”)
‭‭22 ““왕이 원하시는 것은 무엇이든지 사용하십시오. 여기에 불로 태워 바치는 번제물로 소가 있고 또 제물을 태울 땔감으로 타작하는 기구와 소의 멍에가 있습니다.”(“Use whatever the king wants. Here are the oxen for the burnt offering, and the threshing utensils and the yoke of the oxen for the fuel for the burnt offering)
‭‭23 “제가 이 모든 것을 왕에게 드리겠습니다. 아무쪼록 왕의 하나님 여호와께서 왕의 제사를 기쁘게 받으시기를 원합니다.””(I will give all of this to the king. By all means, may the LORD, your God, accept your sacrifice with pleasure.”)
‭‭24 “그러나 왕은 아라우나에게 “아니다. 내가 그것을 거저 갖지 않고 돈을 주고 사겠다. 나는 아무 대가도 치르지 않은 번제를 여호와께 드리고 싶지 않다” 하였다. 그러고서 다윗은 그 타작 마당과 소값으로 은 570그램을 그에게 주고 그것을 사서”(But the king said to Arauna, “No. I will not take it for free, but I will buy it with money. I do not want to offer a burnt offering to the LORD that costs nothing.” Then David gave him 570 grams of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen and bought them)
‭‭25 “여호와께 단을 쌓고 번제와 화목제를 드렸다. 그때 여호와께서 그의 기도를 들으셨으므로 그제서야 그 땅에 내리던 재앙이 그쳤다.”(They built an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the Lord heard his prayer, and then the plague on the land ceased)
