1 “그 후에 이스라엘의 지도자들이 헤브론에 있는 다윗에게 와서 이렇게 말하였다. “우리는 왕과 핏줄을 같이 한 형제들입니다.”Then the leaders of Israel came to David in Hebron and said: “We are brothers in line with the King
‭‭2 “사울이 왕이었을 때에도 전쟁에서 이스라엘군을 지휘한 사람은 왕이었습니다. 그리고 왕의 하나님 여호와께서도 왕이 이스라엘의 목자와 통치자가 될 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.””Even when Saul was king, it was the king who commanded the Israelites in battle. And the Lord your God also said that you will be the Shepherd and Ruler of Israel
‭‭3 “그래서 다윗은 여호와 앞에서 이스라엘의 지도자들과 그 곳 헤브론에서 계약을 맺었다. 그러자 그들은 다윗에게 기름을 부어 그를 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼았는데 이것은 여호와께서 사무엘을 통해 말씀하신 대로 된 것이다.”So David made a covenant there with the leaders of Israel before the Lord at Hebron. Then they anointed David and made him king over Israel, as the LORD had spoken through Samuel

‭‭6 “그때 다윗이 그의 부하들에게 “여부스 사람을 제일 먼저 공격하는 자가 총사령관이 될 것이다” 하고 외치자 스루야의 아들 요압이 제일 먼저 나가서 여부스 사람을 치고 다윗 군대의 총사령관이 되었다.”Then David shouted to his men, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first will be the commander-in-chief,” and Joab son of Zeruiah went out first and struck down the Jebusites and became commander-in-chief of David’s army
‭‭7 “다윗이 그 요새에 살았으므로 사람들이 그 곳을 다윗성이라고 불렀다.”People called it the City of David because David lived in that fortress

‭‭19 “이렇게 부르짖었다. “하나님이시여, 내가 절대로 이 물을 마시지 않겠습니다. 이것은 죽음을 무릅쓰고 갔다온 사람들의 피와 같은 것인데 내가 어떻게 이 물을 마실 수 있겠습니까!””cried out like this “God, I will never drink this water. This is like the blood of people who risked their lives, how could I drink this water!”
‭‭20-21 “이 세 용사 중에 요압의 동생 아비새가 그들의 인솔자였다. 그는 한때 창으로 적군 300명을 쳐죽이고 유명해져서 30명 용장 가운데 대장이 되어 3대 명장 못지않은 명성을 얻었다. 그러나 그는 그 3대 명장 가운데는 들지 못하였다.”Of these three mighty men, Joab's brother Abishai was their leader. ‭‭22 “또 갑스엘 사람 여호야다의 아들 브나야도 큰 공을 세운 용감한 군인이었다. 그는 사자 같은 모압의 두 장수를 죽였고 또 한번은 눈 오는 날 미끄러운데도 함정에 내려가서 그 곳에 빠져 있는 사자를 잡아죽였다.”Also, Benaiah son of Jehoiada from Kabzeel was a brave soldier who made great contributions. He killed two lion-like warriors of Moab, and once again, on a snowy day, he went down into a trap, even though it was slippery, and caught and killed a lion that had fallen into it
