1 ““욥, 이제 너는 내 말을 들어라.”Job, now you listen to me
‭‭2 “내가 입을 여니 내 혀가 입 속에서 말을 하는구나.”I open my mouth, and my tongue speaks within my mouth
‭‭3 “내가 아는 것을 정직하고 진실하게 말하겠다.”I will tell you honestly and truthfully what I know
‭‭4 “하나님의 성령이 나를 만드셨고 전능하신 분의 숨결이 나에게 생명을 주셨다.”The Spirit of God made me and the breath of the Almighty gave me life
‭‭5 “네가 내 말에 대답할 수 있으면 준비했다가 나에게 대답하고 반박하여라.”If you can answer what I say, be ready and then answer and rebut me
‭‭6 “하나님 앞에서는 너와 내가 마찬가지이다. 우리는 모두 흙으로 창조된 자들이다.”You and I are the same before God. We are all created from dust
‭‭7 “그러므로 너는 나를 두려워할 이유가 없다. 나는 너를 억누르지 않을 것이다.”Therefore, you have no reason to fear me. I won't hold you down
‭‭8 ““나는 네가 계속 이렇게 말하는 것을 들었다.”I keep hearing you say this
‭‭9 “‘나는 깨끗하며 죄가 없고 허물도 없으며 잘못한 것이 아무것도 없다.”I am pure, without sin, without fault, and have done nothing wrong
‭‭10 “그런데도 하나님은 나를 칠 구실을 찾고 나를 원수처럼 대하시며”Yet God finds excuses to attack me and treats me like an enemy
‭‭11 “내 발에 쇠고랑을 채우시고 나의 모든 행동을 일일이 감시하신다.’”He shackles my feet and watches my every move
‭‭12 ““그러나 내가 너에게 말하고 싶은 것은 네가 그런 식으로 하나님께 말하는 그 자체가 잘못되었다는 것이다. 하나님은 사람보다 더 위대하신 분이시다.”But what I want to tell you is that it is wrong for you to talk to God in that way. God is greater than man
13 “하나님이 사람의 말에 대답하지 않는다고 어째서 네가 그에게 불평하느냐?”Why do you complain to God because He does not answer what people say?
‭‭14 “하나님이 여러 가지 방법으로 계속 말씀하셔도 사람이 그의 말에 귀를 기울이지 않는다.”God continues to speak in many ways, but people do not listen to him
‭‭15 “하나님은 사람이 밤에 깊이 잠들 때에도 꿈과 환상 가운데서 말씀하시며”God speaks to people in dreams and visions even when they are fast asleep at night
‭‭16 “그들의 귀를 열어 그 말씀을 듣게 하시고 경고하여 그들을 놀라게 하신다.”He opens their ears to hear His words and scares them with a warning
‭‭17 “하나님이 이렇게 하시는 것은 사람을 잘못된 데서 돌이키시고 그들이 교만하지 않게 하기 위해서이다.”God does this to turn people away from their mistakes and prevent them from becoming arrogant
‭‭18 “하나님은 사람이 멸망하도록 내버려 두지 않으시고 그 생명을 죽음에서 구해 내신다.”God does not allow man to perish, but saves his life from death
‭‭19 “또 하나님은 사람을 깨우치기 위해서 그에게 질병과 고통을 주시는 때도 있다.”There are also times when God gives people illness and pain in order to enlighten them
‭‭20 “이럴 경우 사람은 입맛을 잃어 아무리 맛있는 음식이라도 쳐다보기가 싫어지며”In this case, people lose their appetite and do not want to look at food no matter how delicious it is
‭‭21 “그의 몸은 점점 쇠약해져서 뼈와 가죽만 남게 되고”His body gradually weakens until only bones and skin remain
‭‭22 “결국 그는 죽음 직전에 이르게 된다.”Eventually he comes to the brink of death
‭‭23 ““만일 이때 하나님의 수많은 천사 중 하나가 그 사람의 중재자로 나타나서 그에게 옳은 길을 보여 준다면”If at this time one of God's numerous angels appears as the man's intercessor and shows him the right path
‭‭24 “하나님은 그를 불쌍히 여겨 천사에게 ‘그를 살려 주어라. 그를 죽게 해서는 안 된다. 내가 그의 몸값을 찾았다’ 하고 말씀하실 것이다.”God took pity on him and told the angel, ‘Save him. Don't let him die. He will say, ‘I have found his ransom.’
‭‭25 “그러면 그의 몸이 젊은 시절과 마찬가지로 다시 회복될 것이다.”Then his body will recover again as it was when he was young
‭‭26 “그리고 그가 하나님께 기도하면 하나님은 그의 기도를 듣고 그를 기쁘게 받아들일 것이며 그는 또 기쁨으로 하나님을 뵈올 수 있고 하나님도 그와의 의로운 관계를 회복시킬 것이다.”And when he prays to God, God will hear his prayers and accept him with joy, and he will be able to see God with joy, and God will also restore his righteous relationship with him
‭‭27 “그러면 그는 ‘내가 범죄하였으나 하나님은 나를 살려 주셨다.”Then he says, ‘I sinned, but God saved me
‭‭28 “그가 나를 죽지 않게 하셨으므로 내가 다시 살아 빛을 보게 되었구나’ 하고 사람들에게 말하게 될 것이다.”You will say to others, ‘He did not let me die, so that I live again and see the light.’
‭‭29 ““하나님이 사람에게 이런 일을 두 번 세 번 거듭 되풀이하시는 이유는”Why does God repeat this to people two or three times
‭‭30 “그 영혼을 구원하여 그를 생명의 빛 가운데서 살게 하기 위해서이다.”To save that soul and make it live in the light of life
‭‭31 “욥, 너는 내가 하는 말에 조용히 귀를 기울여라. 내가 좀더 말하겠다.”Job, listen quietly to what I say. I will say more
‭‭32 “만일 네가 할 말이 있거든 하여라. 나는 너의 의로운 점을 인정해 주고 싶다.”If you have something to say, say it. I want to acknowledge your righteousness
‭‭33 “그러나 할 말이 없으면 조용히 내 말을 들어라. 내가 너에게 지혜를 가르치겠다.””But if you have nothing to say, just be quiet and listen to me. I will teach you wisdom
