‭‭3 “소도 자기 주인을 알고 나귀도 자기 주인의 구유를 알건마는 이스라엘은 알지 못하고 내 백성은 깨닫지 못하는구나.””The ox knows his master, and the donkey his master's manger, but Israel does not know, and my people do not understand
‭‭4 “슬프다. 범죄한 나라여, 부패하고 악한 백성이여! 너희가 여호와를 저버리고 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님을 배신하였다.”sad. O sinful nation, corrupt and evil people! You have forsaken the Lord and betrayed the Holy God of Israel
‭‭5 “너희가 벌을 더 받고 싶은가? 어째서 계속 거역하느냐? 너희 머리는 병들었고 마음은 약해졌으며”Do you want to be punished more? Why do you continue to rebel? Your head is sick, your heart is weak,
‭‭6 “발바닥에서 머리 끝까지 하나도 성한 곳이 없이 온통 상하고 터지고 맞은 자국뿐인데도 너희는 짜내고 약을 바르며 붕대를 감는 치료를 받지 못하였다.”From the soles of your feet to the tip of your head, there was no sound, just bruises, ruptures, and bruises, but you did not receive treatment that involved squeezing, applying medicine, or bandaging

‭‭9 “만일 전능하신 여호와께서 일부 생존자를 남겨 두지 않으셨더라면 우리는 소돔과 고모라처럼 되었을 것이다.”If Jehovah Almighty had not left some survivors, we would have been like Sodom and Gomorrah
‭‭10 “예루살렘아, 너희 관리와 백성들이 소돔과 고모라 사람들 같구나. 여호와께서 하시는 말씀을 들어라. 우리 하나님의 교훈에 귀를 기울여라.”Jerusalem, your officials and your people are like the men of Sodom and Gomorrah. Listen to what the Lord says. Listen to the teachings of our God
‭‭11 ““너희 수많은 제물이 나에게 무슨 소용이 있느냐? 나는 너희가 숫양이나 짐승의 기름으로 드리는 제물에 이제 싫증이 났다. 나는 수송아지나 어린 양이나 숫양의 피를 기뻐하지 않는다.”What good are your countless offerings to me? I am tired of your sacrifices of rams and the fat of animals. I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or rams
‭‭12 “누가 너희에게 그런 것을 가져오라고 하였느냐? 너희는 내 마당만 밟을 뿐이다.”Who told you to bring those things? You only tread on my yard
‭‭13 “너희는 무가치한 제물을 더 이상 가져오지 말아라. 너희가 분향하는 것도 나는 싫어졌다. 너희가 초하루와 안식일과 그 밖의 명절을 지키고 종교적인 모임을 가지면서도 악을 행하는 것을 내가 차마 볼 수 없구나.”You shall no longer bring worthless offerings. I also don’t like the way you burn incense. I cannot bear to see you observing the New Moon, the Sabbath, and other festivals, holding religious gatherings, and yet doing evil
‭‭14 “너희가 지키는 초하루와 그 밖에 지정된 명절을 내가 싫어하는 것은 그것이 오히려 나에게 짐이 되어 내가 감당하기에도 지쳤기 때문이다.”The reason I hate the New Year's Day and other designated holidays that you celebrate is because they have become a burden to me and I am tired of bearing them
‭‭15 “너희가 하늘을 향해 손을 들어도 내가 보지 않을 것이며 너희가 아무리 많이 기도할지라도 내가 듣지 않을 것이다. 너희 손에는 죄 없이 죽은 사람들의 피가 잔뜩 묻어 있다.”If you lift up your hands to heaven, I will not see; however much you pray, I will not hear. Your hands are full of the blood of innocent people
‭‭16 “너희는 자신을 씻어 깨끗이 하고 내 앞에서 너희 악을 버리고 죄된 생활을 청산하라.”Wash yourselves and be clean; forsake your wickedness from before Me and put an end to your sinful life
‭‭17 “선하게 사는 법을 배우고 정의를 추구하며 학대받는 자를 도와주고 고아를 보호하고 과부를 위해 변호하라.””Learn to live well, seek justice, help the downtrodden, protect the orphans, and advocate for the widows
‭‭18 “여호와께서 말씀하신다. “오너라. 우리 허심 탄회하게 이야기해 보자. 너희 죄가 주홍 같을지라도 눈과 같이 희게 될 것이며 진홍같이 붉을지라도 양털처럼 될 것이다.”Jehovah says: “Come. Let’s talk openly and honestly. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be as red as crimson, they shall be as wool
‭‭19 “너희가 기꺼이 순종하면 땅의 좋은 농산물을 먹을 것이지만”If you are willing to obey, you will eat the good produce of the land
‭‭20 “너희가 거역하고 불순종하면 칼날에 죽음을 당할 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.””If you rebel and disobey, you will be put to death by the edge of the sword. This is what the LORD says
‭‭21 “신실하던 성이 어째서 창녀처럼 되었는가! 한때는 정의와 진리를 사랑하는 자들로 가득하더니 이제는 살인자들뿐이구나.”Why has the faithful city become like a prostitute? It was once full of people who loved justice and truth, but now there are only murderers
‭‭22 “예루살렘아, 너는 한때 순은과 같았으나 이제는 쓸모없는 찌꺼기가 되었으며 전에는 좋은 포도주와 같았으나 이제는 그 포도주에 물이 섞였구나.”Jerusalem, you were once like pure silver, but now you have become worthless dregs; once you were like fine wine, but now you are mixed with water
‭‭23 “너의 지도자들은 반역자요, 도둑들과 한패이며 하나같이 뇌물과 선물 받기를 좋아하고 고아와 과부의 억울한 문제를 해결해 주지 않는구나.”Your leaders are traitors and in league with thieves. They all love to accept bribes and gifts, and they do not solve the unfair problems of orphans and widows
‭‭24 “그러므로 너희는 전능하신 여호와, 능력 있는 이스라엘의 하나님이 하시는 말씀을 들어라. “내가 내 원수인 너희에게 복수할 것이니 너희가 더 이상 나를 괴롭히지 못할 것이다.”Therefore listen to what the LORD Almighty says, the mighty God of Israel: “I will take vengeance on you, my enemies, and you will no longer harass me
‭‭25 “내가 너희를 용광로에 넣어 불순물을 제거하고 깨끗하게 할 것이며”I will put you in a furnace to purify you and purify you
‭‭26 “그 후에 내가 너희에게 이전처럼 지도자들과 지혜로운 조언자들을 줄 것이다. 그러면 예루살렘이 의롭고 신실한 성이라고 불려질 것이다.””After this I will give you leaders and wise counselors as before. Then Jerusalem will be called a righteous and faithful city
‭‭27 “여호와는 의로우신 분이시므로 그는 예루살렘과 회개하고 돌아오는 모든 자들을 구원하실 것이다.”Jehovah is righteous, and he will save Jerusalem and all who repent and return
‭‭28 “그러나 거역하고 범죄하는 자들은 다 패망하고 여호와를 저버리는 자도 망할 것이다.”But all who rebel and sin will be destroyed, and those who reject the Lord will also perish
‭‭29 “너희는 상수리나무 아래와 동산에서 우상 섬기던 일로 부끄러움과 수치를 당하고”You were put to shame and disgrace because you served idols under the oaks and in the gardens
‭‭30 “잎이 마른 상수리나무와 물 없는 동산과 같이 될 것이다.”They will become like oak trees with withered leaves and like waterless gardens
‭‭31 “너희 중에 강한 자는 부싯깃과 같고 그의 행위는 불티와 같아서 함께 탈 것이나 끌 사람이 없을 것이다.”The strong among you will be like tinder, and his ways will be like sparks of fire; they will burn together, but no one will quench them
