1 “여호와께서 말씀하신다. “의롭고 경건한 사람이 죽어도 그 일에 관심을 가지고 깊이 생각하는 자가 없으며 재앙이 닥치기 전에 내가 그들을 데려가도 그 사실을 깨닫는 자가 아무도 없구나.”Jehovah says: “If a righteous and godly person dies, no one will pay any attention or ponder it. If I take them away before the disaster comes, no one will realize it
‭‭2 “경건하게 사는 자들은 죽어서 평안과 안식을 얻는다.”Those who live godly find peace and rest when they die
‭‭3 ““무당의 자식들아, 간음하는 자와 창녀의 자식들아, 이리 오너라.”Come here, you sons of shamans, you sons of adulterers and prostitutes!
‭‭4 “너희가 누구를 조롱하느냐? 너희가 누구에게 입을 크게 벌리고 혀를 내미느냐? 너희는 거역하고 거짓말하는 자들의 자식이 아니냐?”Whom do you mock? To whom do you open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of rebellious and liars?
‭‭5 “너희는 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 우상을 섬기며 골짜기와 바위 틈에서 너희 자녀를 제물로 바쳐 죽이고 있다.”You serve idols under every green tree, and sacrifice your sons and daughters in the valleys and in the clefts of the rocks
‭‭6 “너희는 골짜기에서 매끄러운 돌을 주워 그것을 신으로 섬기고 있으며 그것을 너희 유산처럼 생각하여 거기에 술을 따르며 곡식으로 소제를 드리고 있으니 내가 어떻게 이런 일을 용납할 수 있겠느냐?”You pick up smooth stones from the valley and worship them as gods. You pour wine on them and offer grain offerings as you consider them to be your inheritance. How can I tolerate this?
‭‭7 “너희가 높은 산으로 올라가서 거기에 자리를 펴고 제사를 지냈으며”You went up to a high mountain, spread out your seats there, and offered sacrifices
‭‭8 “너희가 문 뒤에 우상을 세워 놓고 나 아닌 다른 자를 섬기며 나를 사랑하기보다 우상에게 너희 사랑을 바쳐 너희가 간음하고 있다.”You are committing adultery by setting up idols behind your doors, serving others other than me, and giving your love to idols rather than loving me
‭‭9 “너희는 감람기름과 향품을 가지고 가서 몰렉 신에게 선물로 바치고 또 섬길 다른 신을 찾기 위해 사신을 보내 멀리 지옥에까지 내려가게 하였다.”You took olive oil and spices and offered them as gifts to the god Molech, and sent messengers all the way down to hell to find another god to serve
‭‭10 “너희가 다른 신을 찾다가 지쳐도 포기하지 않고 다시 힘을 얻어 그 일을 계속하는구나.”Even though you get tired of looking for another god, you do not give up but gain strength again to continue your work
‭‭11 ““너희가 그처럼 두려워하는 이 신들이 누구이기에 너희가 나에게 거짓말을 하며 나를 까마득하게 잊어버렸느냐? 너희가 나를 두려워하지 않은 것은 내가 오랫동안 침묵을 지켰기 때문이 아니냐?”Who are these gods whom you fear so much that you have lied to me and completely forgotten me? Is it not because I have kept silent for so long that you have not feared me?
‭‭12 “너희는 옳은 일을 한다고 생각하겠지만 내가 너희 소행을 드러낼 것이니 너희 옳은 행위가 너희에게 도움이 되지 못할 것이다.”You may think you are doing right, but I will reveal what you have done, and your right doing will not help you
‭‭13 “너희가 도와 달라고 부르짖을 때에 너희가 수집한 우상들이 너희를 구할 수 있겠느냐? 그 모든 것은 바람에 날려가고 입김에도 불려갈 것이다. 그러나 나를 신뢰하는 자는 땅을 소유할 것이며 나의 거룩한 산을 유산으로 물려받을 것이다.””When you cry out for help, will the idols you have collected save you? All of that will be blown away by the wind and carried by your breath. But he who trusts in me will possess the land and inherit my holy mountain
‭‭14 “여호와께서 말씀하신다. “장애물을 제거하고 도로를 닦아 내 백성이 돌아갈 길을 준비하라.”Jehovah says: “Remove the obstacles and clear the roads to prepare a way for my people to return
‭‭15 “나는 가장 높고 거룩하며 영원히 사는 하나님이다. 내가 높고 거룩한 곳에 살면서도 겸손한 마음으로 죄를 깊이 뉘우치는 자와 함께하는 것은 내가 회개하는 자의 마음을 소생시키기 위해서이다.”I am the highest, most holy and everlasting God. Even though I live in a high and holy place, I have a humble heart and am with people who deeply regret their sins, so that I can revive the hearts of those who repent
‭‭16 “나는 영원히 다투거나 항상 분노하지는 않을 것이다. 내가 만일 그렇게 한다면 내가 창조한 사람들의 영과 혼이 피곤하여 내 앞에서 견딜 수 없을 것이다.”I won't argue forever or be angry all the time. If I do that, the spirit and soul of the people I have created will become weary and unable to endure before Me
‭‭17 “내가 그들의 죄와 탐욕 때문에 분노하여 그들을 벌하고 버렸으나 그들은 오히려 고집을 피우며 계속 자기들 멋대로 행하였다.”I was angry with them because of their sin and greed, so I punished them and abandoned them, but they were stubborn and continued to do as they pleased
‭‭18 “내가 그들의 소행을 보았지만 그들을 고쳐 주겠다. 내가 그들을 인도하며 도와주고 슬퍼하는 자들을 위로할 것이다.”I have seen what they have done, and I will heal them. I will guide them and help them and comfort those who mourn
‭‭19 “먼 데 있든지 가까운 데 있든지 내가 그들에게 평안을 줄 것이며 그들을 모두 고칠 것이다.”I will give them peace, whether far away or near, and I will heal them all
‭‭20 “그러나 악인들은 끊임없이 물결을 일으켜 진흙과 더러운 것을 솟구쳐 오르게 하는 요동하는 바다와 같아서”But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which continually stirs up waves, sending up mud and filth
‭‭21 “그들에게는 평안이 없을 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.””There will be no peace for them. This is what the LORD says
