1 “여호와께서 능력이 부족하여 너희를 구원하지 못하는 것이 아니며 귀가 둔하여 너희 부르짖는 소리를 듣지 못하는 것이 아니다.”It is not that the LORD is too weak to save you, nor is his ear too dull to hear your cries
‭‭2 “너희 죄가 너희를 하나님과 분리시켜 놓았기 때문에 그가 너희를 외면하고 너희 부르짖음에 귀를 기울이시지 않는 것이다.”Your sins have separated you from God, so he ignores you and does not listen to your cries
‭‭3 “너희 손은 피로 물들었고 너희 손가락은 죄로 더러워졌으며 너희 입술은 거짓을 말하고 너희 혀는 악한 것을 내뱉고 있다.”Your hands are stained with blood, your fingers are defiled with sin, your lips are speaking lies, your tongue is speaking evil
‭‭4 “또 공정하고 정당한 방법으로 소송하는 자가 없으며 거짓말하고 악한 음모를 꾸며 상대방을 해치고 있다.”Also, no one litigates in a fair and just manner, and people lie and conspire to harm the other party
‭‭5-6 “너희가 꾸미는 악한 음모는 독사의 알 처럼 치명적이다. 그 알을 밟아 보아라. 거기서 독사가 나올 것이다. 거미줄로 옷을 짤 수 없듯이 너희 악한 행위와 계획은 아무 쓸모가 없을 것이다.”Your evil plots are as fatal as the eggs of a viper. Step on that egg. A poisonous snake will come out of there. Just as a spider's web cannot be woven into clothes, your evil deeds and plans will be of no use
‭‭7 “너희가 항상 악한 것을 계획하여 그것을 신속히 행하며 죄 없는 사람을 살해하는 데 주저하지 않으니 너희가 가는 곳마다 황폐와 파멸이 뒤따를 것이다.”Desolation and destruction will follow you wherever you go, for you are always planning evil things and are quick to carry them out and do not hesitate to murder innocent people
8 “너희는 참된 평안이 무엇인지 모르며 정의와 진리가 무엇을 뜻하는지도 알지 못하고 계속 잘못된 길을 가고 있다. 그러므로 너희를 따르는 자들은 결코 평안을 누리지 못할 것이다.”You do not know what true peace is, and you do not know what justice and truth mean, and you continue to follow the wrong path. Therefore, those who follow you will never enjoy peace
‭‭9 “백성들이 말한다. “이제야 우리는 하나님이 우리를 괴롭히는 자에게서 구원하시지 않는 이유를 알 것 같다. 우리가 빛을 기대하지만 어두움뿐이구나.”The people say “Now I think we know why God doesn’t save us from our tormentors. We expect light, but find only darkness
‭‭10 “그래서 우리가 소경처럼 더듬고 다니며 대낮에도 캄캄한 밤처럼 넘어지니 건장한 사람 가운데 있으면서도 우리가 죽은 자같이 되었다.”So we walked around groping like blind people, stumbling in broad daylight like in the dark of night; we became like dead people even though we were strong
‭‭11 “우리가 곰처럼 부르짖고 비둘기처럼 슬피 울며 하나님이 우리를 구해 주시기를 바라나 아무 일도 일어나지 않고 있다.”We cry out like a bear, weep like a dove, hoping that God will save us, but nothing happens
‭‭12 ““여호와여, 주 앞에 우리의 허물이 많습니다. 우리 죄가 우리에게 대하여 증거하니 우리가 주께 범죄한 것을 인정합니다.”O LORD, our transgressions are many before you. We acknowledge that we have sinned against you, for our sins testify against us
‭‭13 “우리는 주를 배반하고 거역하였으며 주를 따르기를 거절하였습니다. 우리가 다른 사람들을 괴롭히고 악한 것을 생각하며 거짓말을 하였습니다.”We have betrayed and rebelled against You and refused to follow You. We have told lies, thought evil things, and tormented others
‭‭14 “그래서 우리 주변에는 공정과 정의와 진실과 정직이 사라졌습니다.”So fairness, justice, truth and honesty have disappeared around us
‭‭15 “이처럼 어느 곳에서도 진실을 찾아볼 수 없게 되었으므로 악을 피하는 자들이 오히려 희생되고 있습니다.” 여호와께서는 이것을 보시고 정의가 없는 것을 기뻐하지 않으시며”“Because the truth cannot be found anywhere, those who avoid evil are becoming victims.” When the LORD sees this, he has no pleasure in lack of justice
‭‭16 “자기 백성을 도와줄 사람이 없는 것을 보시고 놀라셨다. 그러므로 그가 직접 자기 능력과 의로 그들을 구하실 것이다.”He was surprised to see that there was no one to help his people. Therefore, he himself will save them by his power and righteousness
‭‭17 “그가 의를 갑옷처럼 입으시고 구원의 투구를 쓰시며 복수와 의분의 옷을 입으실 것이다. 그가 자기 원수들에게 분노하셔서”He will put on righteousness like armor, the helmet of salvation, and a garment of vengeance and righteous indignation. He was angry with his enemies
‭‭18 “그들이 행한 대로 갚아 주실 것이며 먼 땅에 사는 대적들에게 보복하실 것이다.”He will repay them according to their deeds and take vengeance on their enemies in a far land
‭‭19 “여호와께서 세차게 흐르는 강물과 강한 바람처럼 오실 것이므로 동서 사방에 있는 모든 사람들이 그의 이름과 위대한 능력을 두려워할 것이다.”Jehovah will come like a rushing river and a mighty wind, and all people in the east and west will fear his name and his great power
‭‭20 “여호와께서 말씀하신다. “구원자가 시온에 올 것이니 이스라엘 백성 가운데 죄를 떠나는 사람들에게 찾아올 것이다.”Jehovah says: “The Deliverer will come to Zion, to those who turn away from sin among the people of Israel
‭‭21 “그리고 내가 그들과 맺는 계약은 이것이다. ‘내가 너희에게 준 내 성령과 말이 너희와 너희 후손들의 입에서 영원히 떠나지 않을 것이다.’ 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.””And this is my covenant with them: ‘My Holy Spirit and my words, which I have given you, will never depart from your mouth or from the mouth of your descendants after you.’ This is the word of the LORD
