1. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 다시 바로에게 가거라. 내가 그와 그의 신하들을 완고하게 한 것은 그들 가운데 내가 이런 기적들을 행하여(Then the Lord spoke to Moses. “Go to Pharaoh again. I have hardened him and his servants because I have performed these miracles among them)

2. 네가 네 자녀들과 손자들에게 내가 어떻게 이집트 사람들을 벌하고 그들 가운데 기적을 보였는지 말할 수 있게 하며 또 내가 여호와임을 너희가 다 알도록 하기 위해서이다"(so that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I punished the Egyptians and performed miracles among them, and that you all know that I am the LORD")

3. 그래서 모세와 아론은 바로에게 가서 말하였다. "히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네가 언제까지 나에게 복종하지 않겠느냐? 내 백성을 보내 그들이 나를 섬길 수 있게 하라

(So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you not obey me? Let my people go, that they may serve me)

4. 네가 만일 계속 거절한다면 내가 내일 메뚜기떼가 네 나라에 들어가게 하겠다

(If you continue to refuse, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow)

5. 메뚜기가 온 지면을 덮어 사람이 땅을 볼 수 없을 것이다. 메뚜기가 우박의 피해를 입지 않은 모든 것을 먹고 들에서 자라는 모든 나무를 먹을 것이며(The locusts will cover the whole earth, so that no one can see the ground. The locusts will eat everything that is not damaged by the hail, and will eat every tree that grows in the field)

6. 또 네 궁전과 네 신하와 백성들의 모든 집이 메뚜기로 가득할 것이니 네 조상들이 세상에서 아직 보지 못한 것들이다.' " 그러고서 모세는 바로 앞에서 나왔다(And your palace, your servants, and all the houses of your people will be full of locusts, things that your ancestors have not yet seen in the world.' “Then Moses went out before Pharaoh)

7. 그때 바로의 신하들이 바로에게 "언제까지 이 사람이 우리에게 함정이 되어야 합니까? 이스라엘 자손들을 보내 그들의 하나님 여호와를 섬길 수 있게 하십시오. 왕은 아직도 이집트가 망한 줄을 모르십니까?" 하고

(Then Pharaoh's servants said to Pharaoh, "How long must this man become a trap for us? Send the children of Israel away so that they can serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?" do)

8. 모세와 아론을 바로에게 다시 데려갔다. 그러자 왕은 그들에게 "가서 너희 하나님 여호와를 섬겨라. 그런데 갈 사람은 누구누구냐?" 하고 물었다(Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. Then the king said to them, "Go and serve the LORD your God. But who is going?" asked)

9. 그때 모세가 "우리는 여호와께 명절을 지켜야 하므로 남자 여자 어른 아이 할 것 없이 다 가야 하며 소와 양도 끌고 가야 합니다" 하고 대답하자(Then Moses answered, "Since we must keep the feast to the LORD, we must go, male, female, and adult, and we must bring cattle and sheep.")

10. 바로가 이렇게 말하였다. "내가 결코 너희 여자들과 자녀들을 보내지 않겠다. 너희가 악한 음모를 꾸미고 있는 것이 틀림없다(Pharaoh said: "I will never let your women and children go. You must be plotting evil)

11. 절대로 안 된다. 너희 남자만 가서 여호와를 섬겨라. 이것이 너희가 요구한 것이다." 그러고서 모세와 아론은 바로 앞에서 쫓겨났다(never be Only your men go and serve the LORD. This is what you have asked for." Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh's presence)

12. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 "네 손을 이집트 땅 위에 뻗쳐라. 그래서 메뚜기떼가 몰려와 우박의 피해를 입지 않고 남아 있는 밭의 모든 것을 먹게 하라" 하고 말씀하셨다(Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may come and eat everything that is left of the field, so that the hail won't hurt them")

13. 모세가 이집트 땅 위의 그의 지팡이를 뻗치자 여호와께서 동풍을 일으켜 그 날 온 낮과 밤에 바람이 불게 하셨다. 그래서 동풍이 아침에 메뚜기떼를 몰고 왔다(When Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, the LORD made an east wind, and the wind blew all day and night that day. So the east wind brought locusts in the morning)

14. 메뚜기가 이집트 전역을 완전히 덮어 그 피해가 막심하였다. 이런 메뚜기떼는 전에 한 번도 본 적이 없었고 앞으로 볼 수 없는 것들이었다(The locusts completely covered all of Egypt, causing great damage. A swarm of locusts like this had never been seen before and never seen before)

15. 그 메뚜기떼가 온 땅을 새까맣게 뒤덮어 우박의 피해를 입지 않은 밭의 채소나 나무 열매를 모조리 먹었으므로 이집트 전역에 나무나 밭의 채소와 같은 푸른 것은 하나도 남지 않았다

(The locusts covered the whole land in black and ate all the vegetables and fruits of the fields that had not been damaged by the hail, so that there was not a single green thing left in all Egypt like trees or fields)

16. 그러자 바로가 모세와 아론을 급히 불러 말하였다. "내가 너희 하나님 여호와와 너희에게 범죄하였다

(Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron in haste and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you)

17. 아무쪼록 내 죄를 이번만 용서하고 너희 하나님 여호와께 기도하여 이 치명적인 재앙을 내게서 떠나게 하라"

(Please forgive me this time, and pray to the LORD your God, that this fatal calamity will be taken away from me")

18. 그래서 모세가 바로를 떠나 여호와께 기도하자(So Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord)

19. 여호와께서 동풍을 강한 서풍으로 돌변시켜 메뚜기떼를 홍해에 몰아 넣으셨다. 그래서 이집트 땅에는 메뚜기가 한 마리도 남지 않았다(The LORD turned the east wind into a strong west wind and drove the locusts into the Red Sea. So there were no locusts left in the land of Egypt)

20. 그러나 여호와께서 바로를 완고하게 하셨으므로 그가 이스라엘 자손을 보내지 않았다

(But the LORD hardened Pharaoh, and he did not let the children of Israel go)

21. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 "너는 하늘을 향해 손을 들어 이집트 전역에 짙은 흑암이 있게 하라" 하고 말씀하셨다

(Then the LORD said to Moses, "Lift up your hand toward heaven, and let there be thick darkness over all Egypt")

22. 그래서 모세가 하늘을 향해 손을 들자 아주 캄캄한 흑암이 3일 동안 이집트 전역을 뒤덮었다

(So Moses raised his hand toward the sky, and a very dark darkness covered all of Egypt for three days)

23. 그 기간 동안 이집트 사람들은 서로 알아볼 수도 없었고 자기 자리에서 일어나는 사람도 없었다. 그러나 이스라엘 자손들이 사는 곳에는 빛이 있었다(During that time the Egyptians did not recognize each other and no one stood up from their seats. But where the children of Israel lived there was light)

24. 그러자 바로가 모세를 불러 "너희는 가서 여호와를 섬겨라. 그러나 너희 양과 소는 남겨두고 너희 자녀들만 데리고 가야 한다" 하고 말하였다(Then Pharaoh called Moses and said, "Go and serve the Lord. But you must leave your sheep and cattle and take your children with you")

25. 그래서 모세가 이렇게 대답하였다. "왕은 우리 하나님 여호와께 드릴 희생제물과 불로 태워 바칠 번제물을 우리에게 주셔야 합니다

(So Moses replied: “You must give us a sacrifice to the LORD our God and a burnt offering to burn with fire)

26. 우리 짐승은 한 마리도 남겨 두지 않고 가져가겠습니다. 우리는 그 중에서 우리 하나님 여호와께 드릴 제물을 선택해야 하며 또 우리가 거기 갈 때까지는 어떤 짐승을 여호와께 바쳐야 할지 모릅니다"

(We will take our beasts without leaving any. We must choose from among them an offering to the LORD our God, and we don't know which animal to offer to the LORD until we get there")

27. 그러나 여호와께서 바로를 완고하게 하셨으므로 그가 이스라엘 자손을 보내지 않고

(But the LORD hardened Pharaoh, and he did not let the children of Israel go)

28. 모세에게 "너는 나를 떠나고 다시는 내 앞에 나타나지 말아라. 만일 네가 내 앞에 다시 나타나는 날에는 죽음을 면치 못할 것이다" 하였다(He said to Moses, "Leave me and do not appear before me again. If you appear before me again, you will not escape death")

29. 그러자 모세가 "좋습니다. 내가 다시는 왕 앞에 나타나지 않겠습니다" 하고 대답하였다

(Then Moses answered, "Okay, I will not appear before the king again")

-> 이 시기에 이집트 왕 바로는 알게 모르게 하나님의 존재를 인정했다는 생각이 강하게 듭니다. 그렇지 않았다면 믿지 않는 사람이 보았을때, 단지 기도하러 보내는 것 뿐인데 초가삼간을 다 태울 정도로, 목숨을 다해 반대를 하는 모습 속에서 확실하게 느낄 수 있습니다. 또한 우리가 사는 지금 이 세상에서도(가정, 회사, 친구관계 등) 교회 혹은 기도하러 간다고 하면, 다 그런건 아니지만 온 힘을 다해서 가지 못하게 하는 사람들이 있습니다. 그만큼 크리스챤의 존재를 크게 생각한다라고 밖에 생각할 수 없는데.. 세상 사람들은 여전히 믿는 사람들에 대한 기대가 크다는 걸 다시 한번 느낄 수 있습니다. 그러니, 우리가 어디에 어떤 상황에 처하든, 주님의 이름을 빛내는 자들이 되어야겠습니다

At this time, I have a strong feeling that Pharaoh, king of Egypt, acknowledged the existence of God, knowingly and unknowingly. Otherwise, when an unbeliever sees you, you can clearly feel it in the way that you are fighting with your life to the extent that you are just sending it to pray, but you burn the thatch and three ganks. Also, even in the world we live in right now(family, work, friendship, etc.), if you go to church or to pray, there are people who, though not all, do everything they can to prevent you from going. I can only think that I greatly value the existence of Christians. I can feel once again that people in the world still have high expectations for those who believe. So, wherever we are, no matter what our circumstances, we must be those who shine on the name of the Lord
