1 “그 후 모세가 모압 평야에서 느보산으로 올라가 여리고 맞은편에 있는 비스가산 꼭대기에 이르자 여호와께서는 길르앗에서 단까지의 모든 땅을 그에게 보여 주시고”(Then Moses went up Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Mount Pisgah, opposite Jericho, and the LORD showed him all the land from Gilead to Dan)
‭‭2 “또 납달리와 에브라임과 므낫세의 모든 땅과 지중해까지 뻗어 있는 유다의 모든 땅과”(and all the lands of Naphtali, Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the lands of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea;)
‭‭3 “남쪽 네겝 지방과 종려나무 성인 여리고에서부터 소알까지의 평야를 그에게 보여 주셨다.”(He showed him the southern Negev and the plains from Jericho, the city of palm trees, to Zoar)
‭‭4 “그런 다음에 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “이것은 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하여 그들의 후손들에게 주겠다고 약속한 땅이다. 내가 그 땅을 너에게 보여 주었지만 너는 그리로 들어가지 못할 것이다.””(Then the Lord spoke to Moses. “This is the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to their descendants. I have shown you the land, but you will not enter it.”)
5 “그래서 여호와의 종 모세는 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 모압 땅에서 죽었다.”(So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died in the land of Moab, as the LORD had said)
‭‭6 “여호와께서 모압 땅의 벧 – 브올 맞은편 골짜기에 그를 장사하였으나 오늘날까지도 그의 무덤을 정확하게 아는 자가 없다.”(The Lord buried him in the valley opposite Beth-Peor in the land of Moab, but to this day no one knows exactly where he was buried)
‭‭7 “모세가 죽을 때 그의 나이 120세였으나 그는 눈도 흐리지 않았고 기력이 쇠하지도 않았다.”(Moses was 120 years old when he died, but his eyesight was not dim and his strength was not failing)
8 “이스라엘 백성은 모압 평야에서 30일 동안 그의 죽음을 애도하였다.”(The Israelites mourned his death for 30 days in the plains of Moab)
‭‭9 “모세가 눈의 아들 여호수아에게 안수하였으므로 그에게 지혜의 영이 충만하였다. 그래서 이스라엘 백성은 여호수아에게 순종하였고 여호와께서 모세를 통해 명령하신 것을 실행하였다.”(Moses laid his hands on Joshua son of Nun, and the spirit of wisdom filled him. So the Israelites obeyed Joshua and carried out what the Lord had commanded through Moses)
‭‭10 “그 후로 이스라엘에는 모세와 같은 예언자가 없었다. 그는 여호와께서 대면하여 말씀하신 자였으며”(After that, there was no prophet like Moses in Israel. He was the one with whom the LORD spoke face to face)
‭‭11 “여호와의 보내심을 받아 이집트에서 바로와 그의 모든 신하들과 그의 온 땅에 놀라운 기적과 큰 능력을 행한 사람이었다.”(He was a man sent by the Lord who performed wonderful miracles and mighty powers in Egypt for Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land)
‭‭12 “이와 같이 이스라엘 백성이 보는 가운데서 모세가 행한 것처럼 놀라운 일을 보여 준 사람은 지금까지 아무도 없었다.”(No one had ever shown such a miracle in the sight of the people of Israel as did Moses)
