1 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 네가 이집트에서 인도해 낸 백성과 함께 이 곳을 떠나 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 그 후손들에게 주겠다고 약속한 땅으로 올라가거라(The Lord said to Moses. "Leave you and the people you brought out of Egypt and go up to the land I promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants)

-> 아브라함과 야곱과 이삭에게 그러셨던것처럼 모세에게도 약속한 땅을 가라고 말씀하시는 대목입니다. 우리 또한 주님이 언제 오셔서 명령하실지 모르니 나와 내 주변을 깨끗이 정돈하는 모습이 필요해보입니다

This is the part where he tells Moses to go to the promised land, just as he did to Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac. We also don't know when the Lord will come and command, so I think I need to clean up around me and me

2 내가 한 천사를 네 앞서 보내 가나안족, 아모리족, 헷족, 브리스족, 히위족, 여부스족을 쫓아내고(I sent an angel ahead of you to drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites)

-> 우리가 가는 길을 예비하시는 하나님은 이미 장애물들을 미리 제거해주십니다

God, who prepares the way for us, already removes obstacles in advance

3 너희를 기름지고 비옥한 땅에 이르게 하겠다. 그러나 나는 너희와 함께 가지 않을 것이다. 이것은 너희가 고집 센 백성이므로 내가 도중에서 너희를 죽일지도 모르기 때문이다"(I will bring you to a fertile and fertile land. But I won't go with you. This is because you are a stubborn people, and I may kill you on the way")

-> 하나님께 매번 순종하지 못하는데도 주님께서는 약속을 지키시기 위해 젖과 꿀이 풍성하게 흐르는 땅으로 인도해주십니다. 그 길에서도 다시 불순종할걸 아시고, 유일한 신이시지만 한없는 사랑을 가지고 계시기 때문에 함께 가지는 않으실거라고 말씀하십니다. 이처럼 우리 또한 예수님의 사랑을 전할 때 거절당할 것을 알면서도 주님께서 명령하신 지상의 명령을 수행하기 위해 복음을 꼭 전파해야 함을 느끼게 됩니다

Even though we fail to obey God every time, the Lord leads us to a land flowing abundantly with milk and honey in order to keep His promise. He knows that he will disobey again on that road, and he says that he will not go with you because he is the only God but has infinite love. Likewise, we also feel that we must preach the gospel in order to carry out the earthly command that the Lord commanded, even though we know that we will be rejected when we preach the love of Jesus

4 백성들은 이 서운한 말씀을 듣고 슬퍼하며 한 사람도 장식품을 착용하지 않았다

(When the people heard these sad words, they were saddened, and not a single person wore ornaments)

5 이것은 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 말씀하셨기 때문이었다. "너희는 고집 센 백성이다. 내가 만일 잠시라도 너희와 함께 간다면 너희를 아주 없애 버릴지도 모른다. 이제 너희는 장식품을 제거하라. 그래야 내가 너희를 어떻게 해야 할지 결정할 수 있을 것이다"(This was because the Lord had said this to the Israelites through Moses. "You are a wayward people. If I went with you even for a moment, I might get rid of you completely. Now take off your ornaments so I can decide what to do with you")

-> 장식품을 제거하라는 의미는 "다른 걸 의지하지 않겠습니다. 오직 여호와만 바라보겠습니다" 라고 하는 믿음을 보려는 의미로 해석이 될 것 같습니다. 우리 또한 주님 외에 세상의 것들을 버리는 연습을 해야만 하겠습니다(The meaning of removing ornaments seems to be interpreted as meaning to see the faith that says, "I will not rely on anything else. I will only look at the Lord." We must also practice throwing away the things of the world besides the Lord)

6 그래서 이스라엘 백성은 시내산을 떠난 이후로 장식품을 달지 않았다

(So the Israelites did not wear ornaments after leaving Mount Sinai)

7 모세는 야영지에서 약간 떨어진 곳에 천막을 치고 그것을 '회막' 이라고 부르곤 했는데 여호와께 물어 볼 일이 있는 사람은 다 야영지 밖에 있는 이 회막으로 갔다(Moses pitched a tent some distance from the camp and used to call it the Tent of Meeting, and all those who had questions of the Lord went to this tent of meeting outside the camp)

8 그리고 모세가 회막으로 나아갈 때마다 백성들은 다 일어나 자기 천막 문 앞에 서서 모세가 회막에 들어갈 때까지 그를 지켜 보았다(And whenever Moses went to the Tent of Meeting, all the people got up and stood at the door of their tent to watch Moses until he entered the Tent of Meeting)

9 모세가 회막에 들어갈 때 구름 기둥이 내려가 회막 문에 섰으며 여호와께서는 그 구름 가운데서 모세와 말씀하시곤 하셨다(When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting, the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and the Lord used to speak with Moses from the cloud)

10 백성들은 구름 기둥이 회막 문에 선 것을 볼 때마다 모두 일어나 자기 천막 문 앞에서 경배하였다

(Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the door of the tent of meeting, they all rose up and worshiped at the door of their tent)

11 여호와께서는 마치 사람이 자기 친구에게 말하듯이 모세와 대면하여 말씀하셨다. 그러고서 모세는 야영지로 돌아오곤 했으나 눈의 아들이며 모세의 보좌관인 청년 여호수아는 회막을 떠나지 않았다

(Jehovah spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but Joshua the young man, son of Nun and Moses' assistant, did not leave the Tent of Meeting)

12 모세가 여호와께 말하였다. "주께서는 나에게 이 백성을 인도하라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 주께서 나와 함께 보낼 자를 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 주께서는 나를 잘 아시고 또 내가 주 앞에서 은총을 입었다고 말씀하셨는데

(Moses spoke to the Lord. "You have told me to lead this people, but you have not told me whom you will send with me. You know me well and have said that I have found favor in your sight)

13 정말 그러시다면 나에게 주의 길을 가르쳐 주셔서 내가 주를 알고 계속 주의 은총을 입게 하시며 이 민족이 주의 백성임을 기억하소서"(If so, teach me your ways so that I may know you and continue to receive your favor and remember that this nation is your people.")

-> 모세가 기도한 이 대목에 대해서 주의를 해야할 듯 보입니다. 우리는 기도할 때 우리가 필요한것만을 정해놓고 찾는 것을 많이 보게 되는데, 모세가 나아가야할 길과 주님과 더 가까운 사이가 되고 주와 영원 계속 함께하길 원한다는 메시지를 아주 솔직하게 고백했을때 주님께서 응답하시는 결과를 볼 수 있습니다

It seems that we should pay attention to this part of Moses' prayer. When we pray, we often see that we set out to find only what we need, and when Moses confessed very honestly the message that he wanted to be closer to the Lord and to continue to be with the Lord forever, the result of the Lord's response can see

14 "내가 직접 너와 함께 가며 너에게 승리를 주겠다"("I myself will go with you and give you victory")

15 "주께서 우리와 함께 가시지 않으시려거든 이 곳에서 우리를 보내지 마소서

(“If you do not go with us, do not let us go from this place)

-> 가만히 되돌아보면, 우리는 기도할 때 "보내주소서" 또는 "보내지마소서" 라고 기도할때가 많지, '주께서 나와 함께 하지 않으시면 나를 보내지 말아주세요' 라는 기도는 하지 않습니다. 이 뜻은 저는 어떤 것을 하든 제 맘대로 할 수가 없습니다. 제 삶에서 모든 것은 오직 주님이 함께 하셔야만 의미가 있습니다 라는 뜻으로 해석이 됩니다

Looking back, we often pray, "Send me" or "Don't send me" when we pray. This means I can't do whatever I want. It is interpreted to mean that everything in my life has meaning only when the Lord is with me

16 주께서 우리와 함께 가지 않으시면 나와 주의 백성이 주 앞에서 은총 입은 것을 누가 알겠습니까? 주께서 우리와 함께하셔야만 나와 주의 백성이 세상의 다른 민족과 구별이 됩니다"

(If you do not go with us, who will know that I and your people have found favor in your presence? You must be with us to distinguish me and your people from the rest of the world.")

-> 우리가 하는 모든 일에서 주님의 영광이 드러나야 합니다. 모든 것에 대한 결과가 좋게 나와도 주님이 함께 하지 않으셨다면 그것은 무용지물이 되며, 하나님께서 믿는자에게 복을 주신다는 것을 만천하에 알릴 수 있습니다

The glory of the Lord must be revealed in everything we do. Even if everything turns out well, it will be useless if the Lord is not with us, and we can let the whole world know that God blesses those who believe

17 "네가 내 앞에서 은총을 입었고 내가 너를 잘 알고 있으니 네 요구대로 내가 다 들어주겠다"

(“Since you have been favored in my presence and I know you well, I will do whatever you ask for”)

-> 주님은 이미 우리를 잘 알고 계시나, 우리는 세상에서 은총은 얻길 원하지 정작 중요한 하나님의 은총은 망각할 때가 많은 것 같습니다. 하나님께 은총을 받을때 주님께서는 우리의 소원을 들어주시지 않는 것이 없습니다

The Lord already knows us well, but it seems that there are many times when we want to gain grace in the world, but forget the most important grace of God. When we receive grace from God, there is nothing that the Lord does not grant our wishes

18 그때 모세가 "주의 영광의 광채를 나에게 보여 주소서" 하고 요구하자

(Then Moses asked, "Show me the radiance of your glory")

-> 우리가 영광을 받길 원하지, 주님의 영광을 보여 달라고 하는 사람이 많지 않음을 발견하게 됩니다. 주의 영광을 보여달라고 할때 주님께서 행하실 일들을 기대했으면 좋겠습니다

We find that there are not many people who want us to be glorified and ask to see the glory of the Lord. I want you to expect what the Lord will do when you ask to see the glory of the Lord

19 여호와께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. "내가 나의 선한 모든 것이 네 앞으로 지나가게 하고 나 여호와의 이름을 네 앞에 선포하겠다. 나는 은혜 베풀 자에게 은혜를 베풀고 불쌍히 여길 자를 불쌍히 여길 것이다(Jehovah answered: “I will cause all that is good for me to pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you)

-> 주의 영광을 보여달라고 했을때, 내 앞에 선한 것들만 지나가고 그 선한것들이 나의 행위가 아닌 그 앞에 주님이 함께하시며 은혜를 충만하게 부어주시겠다고 약속하십니다

When I ask to see the glory of the Lord, only the good things pass in front of me, and those good things are not my actions, but the Lord is with me and promises to pour out grace in abundance

20 그러나 너는 내 얼굴을 보지 못할 것이다. 이것은 나를 보고 살아 남을 자가 없기 때문이다

(But you won't see my face This is because no one will see me and survive)

21 그러니 너는 내 곁에 있는 이 바위 위에 서 있거라(So stand on this rock by my side)

22 내 영광의 광채가 지나갈 때 내가 너를 바위 틈에 넣어 내가 다 지니갈 때까지 내 손으로 너를 덮었다가

(When the radiance of my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have gone through it)

23 그 후에 손을 거두겠다. 네가 내 등만 보고 얼굴은 보지 못할 것이다"

(After that, I will raise my hand. You will only see my back and not see my face")

-> 하나님은 너무나 위대하신 분이기 때문에 우리가 눈으로 쳐다보기에는 매우 눈부신 분입니다. 그런데도 불구하고 주님께서는 우리를 부모와 친구와 같이 대해주시는 고마우신 사랑을 보여주십니다

Because God is so great, He is too dazzling for us to look at. In spite of this, the Lord shows us His gracious love by treating us like parents and friends
